Chapter 4
He walked directly to Thalia and bowed respectfully. “Miss Thalia, here is the eight million you requested.“[]
Thalia nodded.
“Thank you, place it here.“]]
As the cases opened one by one, neatly stacked bills gleamed under the lights.]
Someone in the conference room gasped, everyone’s gaze frozen on the money.]]
The air seemed to be sucked dry, even their breathing became faint.[]
Leah’s face turned pale, but she couldn’t say a word.[]
She stared at the money, then looked up at the well–dressed man.[]
Suddenly, the CFO shouted in panic.]
“Kyle… President Kyle?!“[]
Kyle, President of the New York Main Branch.[]
This man was difficult to meet. Even Mr. Blake Sr. could hardly arrange a meeting with him–yet here he was, standing respectfully before Thalia, addressing her as “Miss Thalia.“[]
Pierce hesitated for a few seconds, then quickly stepped forward, extending his hand in greeting.]
“President Kyle, why did you come personally?“[]
“Thalia’s grandfather always speaks highly of you and mentioned wanting to meet you.“[]
Kyle didn’t even glance at him, just nodded slightly.[]
Then he turned to Thalia: “Miss Thalia, if you need anything else, please let me know anytime.“[]
With that, he turned and left the conference room with his people.
Efficient as always–as if staying another second would be a waste of time.[]
Pierce’s hand froze in mid–air, his face alternating between red and white.[]
Leah’s arrogance had vanished.[]
Her legs went weak, barely able to stand, fine beads of sweat forming on her forehead.[]
Thalia casually pulled out a stack of bills from the case and gently patted Leah’s face.[]
“Leah, eight million, not a penny less.”
“Now, this watch is mine.“]

With that, Thalia yanked the Patek Philippe off Leah’s wrist and threw it into the trash can in front of her.[]
“You!“]
Leah’s eyes nearly bulged with rage.[
Thalia turned to Pierce with a calm smile.
“Pierce, that watch–I paid for it, didn’t I?“[]
“Now, let’s talk about compensation for my phone.“]
Leah was stunned at first, then a contemptuous smile appeared on her face, as if she’d heard the greatest joke.
She crossed her arms, her tone dripping with sarcasm: “How much could a phone be worth?“]
Thalia held up one finger.]
“You’re right, it’s not worth much… only about one hundred million.“[]
The room fell silent for a moment, followed by uncontrollable laughter.]
The marketing director even dramatically slapped the table: “One hundred million? Thalia, did that coffee burn your brain?“]]
The CFO pushed his glasses and pretended to add seriously: “According to company policy, damaged items are compensated at market value.”
“Thalia, the market value of your phone–probably the change in my pocket would be enough?“]
Seeing everyone support her, Leah became even more smug.]
She walked up to Thalia, laughing mockingly: “How about this–I’ll be generous and help you find a spot at a mental health clinic.“[]
“After all, delusions are a disease that needs treatment.“]
Pierce stood aside, frowning but saying nothing.
Faced with everyone’s mockery and ridicule, Thalia remained calm.]
“You’re right, an ordinary phone indeed isn’t worth much.“]
Leah snorted coldly: “Good that you know. Stop embarrassing yourself!“[]
“Too bad this isn’t an ordinary phone.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the conference room door opened again.[]
This time, a middle–aged man in a gray jacket entered, followed by eight bodyguards.[]
Gavin–a core government spokesperson, someone who only appeared at official press conferences.[]
Pierce’s expression changed drastically as he hurried forward.[]
“Mr. Gavin? How did you get here?”
