Chapter 10
Thalia didn’t expose Duncan, allowing him to pull her up, leaving without looking back: “By the way, Sterling Properties will officially take over the Manhattan project tomorrow.“]
“After all, they only agreed to withdraw initially out of respect for me.“[]
Leaving the restaurant, Thalia saw through the glass curtain wall that Pierce was still standing in place.[]
His thin figure was stretched long by the setting sun.[]
Duncan pinched Thalia’s arm: “Softening up?“]
Thalia smiled.]]
“Of course not.“[]
Blake Group eventually went bankrupt.
The day the news broke, New York’s business circles were in uproar.[]
The once–prominent enterprise now had only empty office buildings and piles of debt documents waiting to be processed.[]
Mr. Blake Sr.’s hair turned white overnight, Pierce’s father desperately sought help everywhere–but no one dared extend a hand.[]
Everyone knew that in New York, offending the Winters family meant shortening one’s own future.

Her lips trembling as she called out: “…Thalia.“]]
Thalia didn’t respond, walking directly to the elevator.[]
In the top floor conference room, Blake Group’s executives had already been notified and were waiting nervously.[]
When Thalia walked in, everyone’s gaze was fixed on her.[]
There was fear, regret, and more importantly, hope.[]
“Good afternoon, everyone.“]
Thalia pulled out the chair at the head of the table and sat down, her tone calm.]
“From today, Blake Group officially belongs to Winters Group. As for you all…”
Thalia swept across every face, saying firmly: “You’re all fired.“[]
The conference room instantly erupted in chaos.[]

The CFO shot up, his face pale with anger.]
“Thalia, we’ve worked for Blake Group for over ten years. We may not have earned praise, but we’ve put in time! You can’t do this…“[]
“Can’t?” Thalia sneered, slamming a stack of documents on the table, “These are the financial loopholes and violations you’ve been hiding for the past three years. If you don’t want to go to prison, sign and leave
now.”
Everyone’s faces turned pale, not one person dared to protest.]
Walking out of the conference room, Thalia saw Pierce at the end of the hallway.]
He had lost a lot of weight, his eyes sunken, holding a cardboard box filled with his personal belongings.[]
“Thalia, are you satisfied now?“]
His voice was hoarse, but his eyes remained defiant.[]
Thalia stopped: “Business is like war, Pierce. Whether you win or lose depends on your own ability.“[]
He bit his lip and suddenly asked: “If Leah hadn’t treated you that way initially, would the outcome have been different?“]
Thalia glanced at him without answering.
Thalia turned and left.[]
Pierce’s suppressed sobbing came from behind.[]
Thalia didn’t look back.
