In the days that followed, Kai and I moved, and I started living with him.
I kept trying to figure out how to tell him I wasn’t Claire.
And I was also desperately trying to find a way to switch back.
But then, I stumbled upon some news online.
Claire–in my body–was proposing to tear
My heart sank at the news.
That house was the last thing my grandpa left
me; it couldn’t be demolished.
I rushed back home and found my parents.
“Don’t let them tear down the old house!” I pleaded.
My parents looked at me, confused. “Who are you?”
“It’s me, Jade! The current Jade and I, we’ve swapped souls!” I said frantically, desperate for them to stop Claire.
But then Claire herself appeared, linking arms with my mom.

He looked stunned for a moment, then said,
“What nonsense are you talking about? I don’t
understand a word.”
“Get lost. I don’t want to see your face.”
“Or else I’ll let these guys really hurt you.”
His words plunged me into complete despair.
I never thought he could be this cruel.
I used to love him so desperately. When his
medical check–up showed a tumor, I
specifically went abroad to study for three
months.
I found a way to treat his tumor.
I was all set to find an opportunity to get him
into surgery, and then he did this to me,
swapping my soul with Claire’s.
Tears streamed down my face. I looked up at
him, my eyes filled with hatred.
“Ethan, I’m not going to save you anymore.”
“You’ll regret this.”
