Chapter 7
Unfortunately, Julian refused to let me go. When he saw that tricking me didn’t work, he threatened my family instead.
I had thought about fighting back, but the contract from Selene clearly stated that the inheritance worth billions would only be mine after I married Julian.
I had nothing and no way to stand up to the powerful. I didn’t want to put my family in danger, so I had no choice but to accept the proposal.
And my gut was right! Once the wedding was over, the nightmare began.
Erica didn’t know any of this. She just thought she had won.
“Julian, make Jasmine leave now!”
She grabbed Julian’s arm like she was celebrating a victory, glaring at me fiercely.
“No!”
However, Julian spoke coldly and firmly refused.
When he realized he’d lost his cool, he quickly softened his voice. “What I mean is, since she’s willing to cut ties with you, she can’t be a good person. It’s better to keep her here for now. I’ll help you get back at her later.”
His words made Erica overjoyed and she agreed repeatedly.
I was dragged by two tall bodyguards like a helpless chick caught by an eagle, completely powerless to resist.
Seeing that Julian insisted on keeping me, I became more and more convinced that the suspicion in my heart was true.
I was locked in the basement, where I could faintly hear the wedding march and the lively sounds outside.
But all the excitement had nothing to do with me.. If I guessed correctly, my troubles would begin after the wedding ended.
Thinking of what had happened in my past life, I shuddered with fear.
But now, my hands were tied with ropes, the door was tightly shut and I could hear the bodyguards pacing back and forth outside.
There was absolutely no way for me to escape.
As time passed, the despair in my heart grew stronger and stronger.
I didn’t know how long it had been when the noise outside gradually quieted down.
The basement door opened and the bodyguards carried me upstairs, bringing me to the master bedroom on the second floor.
It had been decorated like a wedding room. Erica was shyly pouting, waiting for Julian to
kiss her.
When she suddenly saw me being brought in, her eyes widened.

“Julian, I know you want to stand up for me, but it’s our wedding night now. There’s no need to rush like this…”
“No, I can’t wait another second, my Mrs. Blake.”
As he finished the last three words, Julian’s voice lost all warmth.
With just a look from him, two more bodyguards came in and held Erica down tightly.
“What’s going on, Julian? What are you trying to do?”
Erica was completely shocked.
Julian ignored her and just looked out the door with a loving expression.
The slow, steady sound of high heels came and Selene, who had promised to step back and let things be, showed up.
She was dressed in the newest designer outfit and sat down on the room’s chaise lounge, her face full of eager anticipation.
Julian naturally took off her heels, massaged her feet and then handed her a pair of slippers to wear.
He really lived up to being a devoted husband.
Erica was shocked by what she saw and shouted nervously, “What’s going on? I’m Julian’s wife! What are you two doing?!”
Selene and Julian held hands tightly, their eyes full of passion.
“What are we going to do? Of course we’re about to do something I’ve been waiting for two whole years!”
She carefully pulled a frog out of her pocket and gently stroked it.
Erica’s eyes went wide. “Why do you have my Lucky Frog? I get it now! You couldn’t beat my luck, so you pretended to back off. But, in truth, you wanted to steal my Lucky Frog to win Julian back! You’re so sneaky!”

Selene looked at her with disgust.
