Silas groaned. He should have made sure she was going to be taken care of before he left.
He headed back toward the car, his mind still spinning E
Ana’s voice called out from the car!
“Well?” she asked impatiently. “Is she there?”
Silas clenched his jaw as the shook his head
“She’s gone,” he said quietly.!!
Ana tilted her head, sounding nonchalant. “Gone where?”
“I don’t know
She scoffed, clearly unbothered. “She’s probably at home, sipping tea and laughing at how we’re running around like fools worrying about her’s
She laughed bitterly. “I wouldn’t be surprised if she staged this whole thing just to get your attention. You know how dramatic she can be
Silas’s eyes widened. That was true.
What if Ana was right?
What if Willow was at home?”
Maybe she healed faster than he thought. Maybe the blood was just exaggerated. Maybe she was already home, laughing to herself at how easy it had been to fool everyone.
The thought made his chest burn with anger.
Silas didn’t say a word as he turned the car around
He drove faster than he should have, gripping the steering wheel tightly. His jaw was clenched, and his heart pounding harder.?
He pulled into the driveway and slammed the car door behind him. He didn’t even realize Ana was still in the passenger seat until she called after him.
“Silas? Aren’t you going to help me out?” She grumbled.
He groaned internally, rushing back quickly to help her out.
Then he rushed inside the house, still leaving her behind.
He just needed to confirm if Willow was in the house. Immediately he stepped inside, he didn’t waste any time. “Willow!” he called out firmly. “Willow, I know you’re in here.”
Silence. E
“You’ve had your fun, Willow. And I’ll make you regret doing this. The sooner you stop this act, the better for you.”
He furrowed his eyebrows as he walked deeper into the house. Something felt… off.D
He walked through the living room and stopped. A strange feeling ran through him.
Something was wrong.
The house felt empty, like things were missing.
As he looked around again, he began to notice them. The little candle Willow always kept on the coffee table was gone. The books she loved to read were missing from the shelf.”
Their framed wedding photo, the one she had insisted on hanging in the middle of the living room was gone.!!
His frown deepened as he moved through the house. “Willow?” he called again, but this time, his voice sounded a little uncertain this
There was no answer.k
He reached the bedroom they shared, and pushed open the door, and he froze.
The closet door was wide open, and it was half empty. Only his clothes were left, but all of Willow’s clothes were gone.!!
He opened the drawers, and just like the closet, her things were cleared out. All her shoes were missing from the rack
Her soft pink blanket that she placed on her side of the bed was gone. Even the small pillow she liked to hold while sleeping wasn’t
there.
His stomach dropped.
He glanced around slowly, trying to make sense of what he was seeing. There were no perfume bottles laying on the table, no hairbrush, no earnings scattered on the table like she always left them k
He walked into the bathroom and checked.!!
Her toothbrush was gone.
Her robe and towels were gone.
Everything, every trace of her was gone. It was like she had never lived here at all.
Silas backed away slowly, his mind racing
He walked to the patrioom and спеске…..
Her toothbrush was gone.
Her robe and towels were gone.
Everything, every trace of her was gone. It was like she had never lived here at all.
Silas backed away slowly, his mind racing.
No. No, this didn’t make sense.”
She wouldn’t just leave. That was impossible.
He turned and looked around the house again in total disbelief. Every little reminder of Willow was gone. “Seriously?” Ana said bitterly, breaking his thoughts. “You just left me out there?“8
Her arms were crossed as she glared at Silas.
Silas didn’t answer her. He kept on thinking.
“Silas! What is your problem?” Ana snapped. “What’s going on?”
“She’s gone,” he said quietly.
Ana blinked. “What?”
He turned to her. “Willow is gone. She packed everything and left”
“Ana stared at him. “She–what? Are you sure?”
He nodded.
Ana bit back a smile, because finally, Willow was out of the way. She could finally have Silas all to herself.)
