Chapter 3
After Isolde finished speaking, she turned and walked out of the house without a second glance, as if I didn’t even exist.
Kaelen stood to the side, panic flickering in his eyes, and whispered, “Let me explain. love only you.”
I glanced at the marks on his neck, a cold laugh rising from deep within me. “Love only me? Then what about Isolde? What were you two just doing?”
“No, I… I was…” Kaelen stammered, rushing to defend himself, his words stumbling over
each other.
“What was that, then?” I interrupted him, my voice a sharp edge as I fought to suppress

the fury boiling inside. “Let’s sever the bond, Kaelen.”
My voice trembled, but it was resolute, aching so deeply I could barely breathe.
Kaelen’s face twisted in disbelief, confusion, and anger as he gripped my hand tightly. “Are you serious?”
“Of course.” I said each word slowly, my gaze firm. “You’ve already betrayed me. So what’s left to talk about?”
With that, I wrenched my hand out of his
grasp.
Kaelen’s expression darkened, and without thinking, he shot back, “What are you without me?”
I froze, a sharp pain blossoming in my chest.

So, this was how Kaelen had seen me all along.
“What?” I whispered, my voice barely audible, a slight tremor in it. “Three years together, and I was just a toy to you?”
Kaelen didn’t hesitate for a second, a mocking grin curling on his lips. “You’re just an orphan who can’t even shift into a wolf. If it weren’t for me, you’d never have had a shot at my family’s company.”
In that moment, I felt like my heart had been ripped out. Anger and shame clashed violently inside me, and without thinking, I slapped him hard across the face.
“This is how you see me?” I spat, my voice seething with fury. “Fine, then. Let’s break up, Kaelen Vorn. We never need to see each other again.”

I turned on my heel and stormed out of what had once been our Pack House. The wind outside hit me with a cool, biting touch. Lucian was waiting for me at the corner. I had planned to introduce him to Kaelen today, but everything had unraveled in the worst possible way.
I fought back the tears threatening to spill and whispered to Lucian, “Mom and Dad, let’s go back to the Golden Crescent Pack. I don’t want to stay at Silvermoon Crest Pack anymore.”
Lucian didn’t say much. He simply patted my shoulder gently and signaled for the driver to take us to the airport.
When we arrived at the Golden Crescent Pack, Elara had already prepared my room. The decor was soft pink, lavish yet with a

hint of childish innocence, clearly set up just
for me.
Elara seemed to want to say something but was led out by Lucian, giving me some space to myself.
I sat on the edge of the bed, my mind a blank slate. The image of Kaelen and Isolde kissing replayed over and over in my mind, a whirlwind of emotions flooding my chest.
Why? They had never even crossed paths at school, so why had it ended like this?
My phone rang again, Kaelen’s calls coming one after another throughout the night.
I didn’t sleep, his calls endlessly disturbing the quiet, making the world feel off–balance.
By dawn, I had made up my mind. I sent my

resignation letter to the Vornstahl family company and blocked all messages from Kaelen.
I understood now–life isn’t just about men. I needed to focus on my career, on my future.
After a quick wash–up, I felt a sense of clarity. I walked to my parents.
When Lucian saw me, he smiled and patted my head. “This weekend, your mother and I are hosting a welcome party. We want to officially announce that you’re my daughter, the daughter of Alpha King Lucian Thorn, and the sole heir to the Golden Crescent Pack. Make sure you’re there.”
“Okay, Dad.”
Having my family by my side truly warmed my heart.

Elara, her eyes gleaming with excitement, said, “I know some powerful young wolves, and they’re all handsome. Want to meet them? I promise they’re way better than your ex.”
As she spoke, she handed me her phone, showing a few photos.
“Mom, I’m not thinking about this right now.” I smiled, gently pushing her phone away.
“Alright, I’ll keep them for later,” Elara agreed, though there was a hint of reluctance in her voice.
After breakfast, Elara dragged me to the mall, eager to give me a makeover.
Skin care, makeup, a new hairstyle, trying on clothes–the whole process was an

eye–opener, and when I looked in the mirror, I saw a completely new version of myself. The girl who used to walk with her head down,
filled with self–doubt, was nowhere to be found.
I had thought the changes Kaelen had brought about in me were enough, but now I realized there was so much more I could
become.
Suddenly, the memory of the first gift Kaelen had ever given me came to mind–a pale blue dress.
Once, the orphanage had received a
donation of clothes, and among them was a yellow–green skirt that caught my attention.
Lyra, seeing how I kept staring at that skirt, had gently given it to me.
