The moment Reik spoke my name with such sincerity, a thousand fragments of light flashed through my mind. But when I tried to grasp them, they were gone.
My mind was still a vast, empty space.
All I knew was this.
I was Nora.
I was Reik Thorne’s wife, the one who had died too soon.
I slowly lifted my eyes and looked at the man before me.
“I don’t remember anything…” I said.
“I know,” Reik whispered, lowering his head and touching his forehead to mine.

The elevator had reached the basement level, and the doors slid open automatically. Reik swept me up into his arms. My body went airborne, and I instinctively wrapped my arms around his neck
