Chapter 15
Lira walked out of the mall, eager to adjust the lens. Ever since she returned to her hometown, she had been competing with Roselyn and hardly touched a camera again. Now, looking at the world through the lens once more, it felt like stepping into her own arena, confident and bold.
The shutter kept clicking non–stop, Lira was spinning the lens quickly and pressing the shutter button rapidly, capturing street scenes one after
another.
Suddenly, a figure burst into the frame, and she paused her finger on the shutter
Brent stood sideways next to the car, his head slightly tilted to the left, with a phone dipped to his e ear. He poured a cigarette from the pack in his right hand into his mouth, and as he lit it, he raised his left hand to shield the flame from the wind. With each inhale and exhale, smoke flowed through his fingers, blurring his profile.
Can’t describe the unruly.
Lira’s fingers hesitated for just a second before quickly pressing down.
The next second, Brent suddenly looked over, and Lira saw in the camera what seemed like the eye of a hawk, sharp and dangerous.
Her fingers paused again
Brent also saw that it was her, his cold eyes softened slightly, and he said to the person on the other end of the phone, “Let’s hang up first, we’ll
talk when we meet
Took the phone off his ear and tossed it into the car, Brent waved to Lira.
Lira walked over with a guilty conscience.
Brent took a drag and said, “Are you taking pictures of me?”
Lira: “I deleted it right away.”
Brent reached out his hand and said, “Let me see.”
Lira gave him the camera.
Brent took a look and said, “It’s okay, keep it.”
Seems like he wasn’t angry.
Lira breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, “I’ll wash it for you later.”
Brent nodded, caught a glimpse of someone sneakingly holding a phone towards him, opened the car door and motioned with his chin, “Get in fira.”
Lira went u
Brent closed the door and said, “Wait for me a moment”
He took a step away, and Lira glanced in the direction he was walking, vaguely seeing a piece of clothing peeking out from behind a pillar. Judging by the color, it looked like Shirley’s.
Lira rolled her eyes and didn’t care what Shirley was up to, she just focused on playing with her favorite
After a while, Brent came back.
Lira took the camera.off the car window and asked, “Are we leaving?”
Brent: Curious?”
boy.
The not curious” Lira shook her head. “I used to always focus on irrelevant people, missing out on a lot of beautiful scenery.” People may be small, but they have a lot of insights
Brent bit his lip and insisted on telling her, “She took a picture of us and wants to send it to your sister.”

“Nerve,” she commented after a few seconds of silence..
Brent agreed, “I made her delete it.”
She asked again, “Go back?”
“Why don’t you go back? I want to try the camera, Lira suggested parting ways.
Brent looked over and said, “Do you know the difference between humans and ghosts”
Lira “What?
Brent: “Ghosts die if they sunbathe, and humans die if they don’t
The implication is, if he doesn’t go out and get some sun soon, he’s gonna die.
Lira couldn’t help but laugh, she found that Brent was really good at dark humor.
In the end, the two of them didn’t split up. Instead, Lira gave the address and Brent drove. One went to take photos, the other went to sunbathe
Shirley didn’t stop her heart from beating irregularly until she got into the car, not because she was amazed by Brent’s appearance, but because she was scared
She never felt fear from any man
That man was really scary
She took a while before calling Roselyn back.
Roselyn answered and asked, “Did you get
“Forget about it,” Shirley said. “I had it originally, but he found out, so I had to delete it.”
Roselyn: “You didn’t back up?”
Shirley didn’t dare, that man even made clean the crash can.
“Roselyn, that guy was really scary, definitely not a good person, probably involved in some shady stuff,” Shirley insisted.
“How did Lira know this kind of person?” Roselyn worried.
Shirley sneered, “Has she ever known anything good?”
Lira’s Instagram has always been looked down upon.
Roselyn: “Don’t say that she’s just young and easily fooled.”
In a hurry again, I won’t tell you now. This is serious. I have to tell my mom
“You said it, she’s going to blame you again, Shirley advised her, “You’d better act like you don’t know.”
Roselyn: “It doesn’t matter what she thinks of me, I can’t watch her go down the wrong path.”
Shirley felt sorry for her friend Lira Lira has both parents and lots of money to spend. Roselyn lost her father and had to rely on others since she
was young, living under the control of her stepfather. What could Lira possibly be dissatisfied with?
