Chapter 13
The next day, Lira went out with Brent to look at houses after breakfast.
Spent half a morning looking at five or six sets, all picked according to her preferences. Each set was good, and Lira finally chose a set in a mid–range community with the best location
After paying three months‘ rent and signing the contract, Lira got the keys. She ordered lunch for Brent and texted him on WhatsApp.
Brent: “You didn’t come back to eat?”
Lira: “I came back at night.”
She planned to clean the house, buy the missing things, so that when Brent gets better in a few days, she can move in directly.
These didn’t need to tell Brent, and Brent couldn’t ask easily, so let Erica ask.
Erica asked in detail and I replied with Lira’s room number.
Brent looked up this neighborhood online, it wasn’t a high–end neighborhood, not even comparable to the mansion area where the Faulkner family lived.
This is like a princess living among the common people, with furrows between his eyebrows.
In the evening, Lina came back, looking normal on the surface, but radiating happiness all over, with every strand of hair telling a story of joy. Brent: “So happy?”
Lira smiled lightly, “Well, I found a house, so now I kinda have a place to call my own.”
All she wanted in her past life was just a home
A home with parents love.
Unfortunately, her parents relationship was really thin, and they never got their wish fulfilled even until death.
Now she doesn’t want parents, just wants home, and she can easily get it.
Seeing only happiness in her eyes, not sadness. Brent swallowed back the words of asking her to stay here
She didn’t even want the Faulkner family” anymore, let alone staying with someone else.
“Last time I saw you, you were still resenting your parents for favoritism. How did you suddenly come to terms with it?” Brent finally asked.
Because God gave her a second chance to start over, not to repeat the same mistakes
This can’t be said, Lira just said, “Sometimes people have a moment of realization, I andthem are like the ends of a rubber band, letting go first won’t hurt, I used to not understand, holding on tightly, strangling myself until I bled.”
A lifetime later, the analyzed herself, calm as if talking about someone else, without sadness or pain.
Brent’s heart felt like it had been stabled, making his back slightly hunched in pain.
He lived to be thiny, never had any regrets, except for the year he joined the military after finding out she liked Xander.
If he hadn’t left, with him there to protect ther, she wouldn’t have ended up in jail and wouldn’t have had these realizations.
What she wanted, he could do everything to make sure she got it, instead of giving up helplessly after not getting it.
Brent didn’t know Lira’s feelings, she was actually quite happy, and she ate a lot for dinner as usual.
After dinner, I went back to the bedroom, took a shower, and lay on the table. Lira started thinking about buying a camera.
She had limited money in her hand, couldn’t afford the top–of–the–line, so she had to buy something with good value for money first.
Lita pot beneli amera, listed all the models of the lenses, and could get it for around a hundred thousand.

A few days passed in the blink of an eye, Lira didn’t go out anymore. Brent’s injury was getting better day by day. He didn’t have to sleep on his stomach anymore, and he didn’t have to take medicine. Just wait for the scab to fall off naturally.
Lira went out again feeling relieved.
Brent messaged Erica on WhatsApp, Ask her where she went.”
Erica told him after a while, “Lira went to buy a camera.”
Brent thought about that resume she submitted for a photographer position.
He didn’t know the price of the camera, but he knew a photography expen, “any lens is not cheap.”
Did Lira have enough money?
