Chapter 30 It’s No Longer Exciting
Mayra’s gaze darkened as she slung her bag over her shoulder and walked. out, Gracie trailing behind her.
She asked, “Are you really going to carry that bag?”
Mayra asked, “What’s wrong with it?”
Gracie shook her head, a flicker of disappointment in her eyes.
“Gracie, let’s go. I just bought a new place. Come over, I’ll cook us something to eat.”
Gracie forced a smile and said. “Sure.”
Meanwhile, after leaving the store, Miley immediately called Ronan.
“Ronan, I heard Draven’s in the hospital. What happened?”
Ronan himself wasn’t sure what had happened. He had only heard that Mayra had caused a scene in the private room, humiliating Jordon, and even Neil had stepped in.
But as to why Draven was in the hospital, Jordon refused to elaborate.
He’d asked Draven directly, but Draven only said it was Mayra’s doing.
Ronan thought, “Mayra really is a troublemaker, always stirring things up.”
Ronan was feeling incredibly frustrated. He never liked his mother’s relatives, especially his two aunts. The greed in their eyes was so obvious.
But at least Mayra had handled them well–he hadn’t heard from them in

ages.
So Ronan didn’t know why Miley made the sudden call.
“He’s fine. Don’t worry.”
Miley sighed in relief but then remembered Mayra, her tone growing stern. “Mayra is like she’s possessed. She took my 70–thousand–dollar bag, mocked me, and even implied that you told her to do it. Ronan, you should talk to her and get my bag back.”
Ronan thought, “So that’s what this was about.”
He lit a cigarette, taking a few puffs before responding, “Yeah, I got it. She just got out of the hospital, probably in a bad mood. I’ll call her later.”
Miley’s eyes gleamed with a smug satisfaction. She knew that bag would be back in her hands sooner or later.
As Mayra arrived home, she got a call from Ronan,
She opened the door, her voice flat. “What is it?”
Ronan said, “Miley said you took her bag, Mayra. You’re really getting bolder these days.”
A sharp pain hit Mayra’s head, and a sour feeling spread in her chest.
She took a deep breath. “Is that all you called to say?”
“Isn’t this worth mentioning? How long are you going to keep causing
trouble?”
“Even if she wants my attention, this is pushing it too far,” Ronan thought.
Without another word, Mayra hung up and blocked him.

She placed the groceries on the counter and turned to Gracie. “Make yourself comfortable. My new furniture should be arriving soon. I had the nanny come by earlier to clean, and everything’s been sanitized. It’s very clean.”
The previous owner had great taste. The place was perfect for a woman to live in, and at 150 square meters, it was huge.
Gracie’s lips pressed into a tight line, and after a long pause, she asked in a hoarse voice, “You’re living here alone?”
J’Yeah, I moved out of the Oliver villa.”
“Who called you just now, Ronan? It’s your first day here; aren’t you inviting him over for dinner?”
Mayra couldn’t shake the feeling that Gracie was unusually interested in her private life.
“Gracie, I’m over him. Don’t bring him up in front of me again. It just makes me sick.”
Gracie’s smile faltered slightly. She sat down on the couch, her voice. heavy. “But you’ve been together for years. You really think you can just be over him?”
“I was obsessed before, but now I see clearly.”
An hour later, Mayra had cooked the meals. Just as they finished eating, the furniture delivery arrived.
It was all small stuff, but she arranged it neatly around the living room and bedroom. The decor made the space feel warm and elegant.
“Gracie, do you want to stay here tonight?”
“No, I’ve got to head to my night shift later,”

“Okay.”
Mayra saw her out, and on her way back up, she ran into a woman with wavy hair in the elevator.
The woman smelled faintly of alcohol, and everything about her–from her shoes to her hair–was meticulous.
When the elevator reached her floor, Mayra realized that this woman was her neighbor.
The woman noticed her too and waved, saying, “Mayra, you moved in here?”
Mayra nodded politely, catching her as she stumbled.
Reese flicked her hair, a hazy look in her eyes, and said, “You’re better off moving out. I honestly admire how long you could put up with that
family.”
Reese opened her door, and a small white dog immediately darted out.
Yawning, she added, “By the way, have you slept with Ronan yet?”
“What?”
Mayra was completely caught off guard by the abrupt change in topic.
Reese leaned against the door, her every move oozing sensuality.
“Not slept with him yet? No wonder you’re still chasing him. Men are like that–you try it, and then it’s not as exciting anymore. I can’t watch you chase him around. It’s so obvious you haven’t had a taste. Here, take this. Maybe it’ll help.”
She tossed something to Mayra, who instinctively caught it.

It was a blister pack of pills with no labels. Mayra had no idea what they were for.
Reese grinned slyly, a glint of mischief in her eyes. “Goodnight.”
Mayra stood there, stunned, holding the pills. She walked into her apartment and dropped them in her new bag without a second thought.
The world she lived in was full of familiar faces, and her pursuit of Ronan
was no secret.
Reese was from the Baxter family, which ranked in the top five of Moonfell’s wealthiest families.
But Reese was adopted. Despite her talents, she wasn’t fully accepted by the Baxter family, which was probably why she lived here.
On top of that, her bold and unrestrained style of doing things made her the subject of plenty of gossip within the circle.
A beautiful, well–dressed woman was bound to get wrapped up in scandal, no matter the circles she moved in.
And in a world still dominated by men, it was impossible to avoid the
rumors.
