Chapter 27 It’s Impressive
Tonight, Mayra stayed at Colten’s suite again.
She had taken her card with her when she left in the morning, and after spending the afternoon sorting out the house purchase, she was utterly exhausted. Without a second thought, she swiped the card and walked straight in.
She collapsed onto the sofa, letting out a long yawn.
As she drifted in and out of drowsiness, she heard the sound of running water from the master bathroom. She looked up and saw Colten.
He was wiping his hair with a towel, his waist wrapped in just a bath
towel.
He wasn’t in his wheelchair anymore, his feet firmly planted on the ground, though his movements were slow.
Mayra immediately snapped out of her daze and jumped to her feet.
Colten didn’t move, casually wiping his hair and glancing at the door, probably wondering how she had gotten in.
This was the first time Mayra had seen him half–naked. Water droplets rolled down his neck, tracing the firm lines of his muscles and disappearing into the depths of the towel around his waist.
She quickly turned her gaze away and muttered, “Mr. Colten, fancy meeting you here.”
“This is my room,” Colten said.

Mayra felt a rush of embarrassment. She must have been too tired to think straight, swiping the card and entering without a second thought.
Colten walked slowly, using the walls and furniture to support himself.
Despite his careful movements, his posture was straight.
Instinctively, Mayra stepped forward, steadying his arm.
“Sorry, I’m just so tired tonight. I didn’t think it through. I’ll get another room right away.“.
Her palm pressed against Colten’s skin–he had just showered, and his skin was cold.
He pulled his arm away, his expression flat. “You can stay on the sofa for the night.”
Mayra yawned again. She was exhausted, and all she could think about was how a pillow would make her fall asleep instantly.
“Alright, thank you, Mr. Colten.”
He didn’t want her help, so she wasn’t about to push the issue. She turned to leave but saw him walking toward the hairdryer.
His movements were still slow.
“Are you drying your hair? Let me help you,” Mayra quickly offered.
She reached for the hairdryer on the shelf, but in doing so, the cord accidentally smacked her forehead. She instinctively stepped back, colliding with Colten.
Colten, still in rehab, could barely stand on his own, and the impact caused him to stumble backward, falling onto the bed.
Mayra still held the hairdryer in her hand, realizing what had happened. She turned around quickly.
But as she did, her clothing caught on the edge of Colten’s bath towel, which was the only thing he had on. The towel was just seconds away from slipping off, and his face darkened immediately.
“Mayra!”
Mayra froze, her eyes wide. She immediately shut them, but in that split second, she couldn’t help but think to herself, “Colten is indeed well- endowed in every sense of the word. And it’s… impressive.”
She wasn’t doing it on purpose.
Colten, watching her with her eyes shut, averted his gaze, his wrist bones. braced against the bed as he leaned on them.
“Get out!”
He grabbed the blanket next to him and carelessly draped it over his lower body.
Mayra opened her eyes but dared not look at him. She quickly said, “Alright, Mr. Colten. Get some rest.”
It was way too awkward. The sleepiness she’d had earlier had completely vanished.
As soon as the door clicked shut behind her, the room became unnervingly quiet.
Colten lay on the bed and stared at the ceiling, one elbow covering his eyes, lost in his thoughts.
His hair was still damp, and the water droplets had soaked into the sheets.

Chapter 27 Impressive
He was usually so cold, but right now, something about his presence had changed, as though that strict self–control had been broken. There was an almost dangerous, alluring aura about him.
Mayra opened the door to her room, her voice still tinged with
awkwardness. “Mr. Colten, I’ve booked a separate room for myself. I won’t disturb you tonight. Good night.”
She was about to walk out, but after a brief pause, she figured it was only polite to say something before leaving.
After a long silence, a muffled voice came from the room. “Alright.”
