Chapter 19 Dying of Thirst
In a daze, Mayra opened her eyes and looked up, wanting to see Colten’s face, but everything was blurry.
She tried her best to reach out and grabbed his hand resting on the
wheelchair.
He didn’t pull his hand back. Yet, as a gentleman, he also didn’t take advantage of the situation.
She placed his palm against her cheek, even her breath hot.
“Water…”
She felt so hot.
Suddenly, Colten pinched her chin, forcing her to look at him. “Do you know who I am?”
She didn’t know. All she knew was she was dying of thirst.
Even his hand gripping her chin seemed attractive to her.
She held his hand with both hands, kissing him from his fingers to his
palm.
He curled his palm slightly, his Adam’s apple bobbed as he turned his wheelchair away.
She had been leaning against the wheelchair, caught off guard, she fell onto the carpet.
The room was cold. She saw him entering the bathroom and soon heard

the sound of running water.
She curled up on the carpet, feeling uncomfortable all over, an itching sensation seemed to penetrate her bones.
Colten didn’t help. He moved further away from her, picked up a book. from the shelf, and started to read..
She panted, sweating profusely.
After twenty minutes, her whole body was drenched in sweat, even her hair was soaked,
He maneuvered the wheelchair over, picked her up, carried her to the bathroom, and pushed her into the bathtub filled with cold water.
The collision of extreme heat and extreme cold made her shiver.
She regained her sanity for a brief moment. Pursing her lips, she sat on the edge of the bathtub, her body completely soaked.
Colten’s expensive suit was wet. He sat in his wheelchair, looking down at her from above, exuding a domineering aura.
“Sober now?”
She shivered again and wanted to say yes, but before she could do so, she felt that heat again.
This time, it was even more overwhelming and unbearable.
She leaned back, almost slipping into the bathtub.
Seeing this, he acted quickly and pulled her out. Now his suit was drenched, too.
She knelt in the bathtub, cupped his face, and kissed his lips eagerly.

Even his lips were cold, which stunned her slightly.
She used her tongue to pry open his teeth, wanting more.
But in the next second, he pushed her back into the bathtub and pressed her head under the water.
After a few seconds, he turned around, his fingers resting on the wheelchair’s armrests curling up, his wrists tense.
“Get out after you’re sober.”
Mayra was indeed sober now. It was probably because her body was too hot; what she felt right now was a bone–chilling cold.
She patted her face a bit forcibly, only to realize it was swollen.
Taking a deep breath, she buried her face in the cold water. Only after her body cooled down did she slowly stand up.
As she was stepping out of the bathtub, she almost slipped and fell.
The heat was gone; it was replaced by a great sense of shame.
She stood at the bathroom door, water dripping from her body.
She saw that Colten was still in his wheelchair, his suit wet to the utmost.
But he didn’t look disheveled at all; he folded his hands and rested them on his abdomen while looking up.
She felt so embarrassed that she couldn’t utter a word.
“Are you sober?”
“Thanks, Mr. Morton, for tonight.”
He placed a file on the bed. “Take a look. It might be useful to you.”

To distract herself, she immediately picked it up. Then she saw it was a detailed business layout of the top–notch families in Moonfell as well as their connections with each other. Since she lost her memory, it was vitally invaluable to her.
He lowered his head and started to unbutton his suit.
Noticing her gaze, he frowned and stopped. “Step out.”
It was a luxury suite, and they were in the master bedroom.
Mayra felt a bit awkward; she wasn’t a pervert.
As she walked toward the living room, out of the corner of her eye, she saw Colten taking off his suit jacket.
Soon, he changed into another set of clothes and pointed to a shopping bag. “It’s your clothes. Change into them.”
She went into the bathroom with the bag. Opening it, she was surprised to see underwear inside.
She quickly changed her clothes. Then she saw herself in the mirror advertently. Her cheeks were still red, and one of them was somewhat swollen.
After dawdling for a while, she finally walked out.
Colten was sitting in his wheelchair, flipping through company files.
There was an ice pack on the coffee table. With his head lowered and his slender fingers, he looked both aloof and refined.
“Apply it to your face.”
Mayra was actually a bit shaken tonight. It was already 11 p.m., but she didn’t want to leave.
Sitting on the couch, she picked up the ice pack and pressed it against her swollen cheek.
The only sound in the room was the rustling of him flipping through the files.
At first, she felt a bit uneasy because of the kiss. Yet now, seeing his calm. demeanor, she figured maybe she was making a big deal out of it.
Maybe the kiss was nothing in his eyes.
After all, he looked as if he was detached from worldly desires.
