Chapter 10 You’ve Gone Too Far This Time
There was a moment of silence before a burst of mocking laughter filled
the air.
“Good for Ronan! You actually guessed it right,” someone chuckled.
Ronan hadn’t brought Viviana out tonight. Instead, he was accompanied by a stranger, a bottle–service girl.
Men had this deep–rooted flaw. Everyone else called for bottle girls, and if Ronan didn’t, it would make him look bad.
So don’t buy into their claims of, “They’ve all been to the clubs, but not me.”
Remember. Men didn’t want to be the odd one out when it came to this.
When Ronan saw Mayra, his eyes flickered with a brief flash of surprise. Then it quickly turned into resignation.
His brow furrowed as he set his glass down on the coffee table.
“Mayra, are you serious?”
She’d already caused a scene at the Moonlight Club a few times before, and now she showed up dressed like a staff member again. It only made her seem more pathetic every time.
Mayra gave a small bow and picked up the most expensive bottle of La Romance Conti, flashing a smile at the group.
“Who ordered the wine? Do you need help opening the bottle?”
She’d overheard their conversation outside the room, feeling a pang of bitterness. But once she stepped inside and saw these rich playboys with their nouveau–riche airs, she thought maybe she could make back that 15 thousand dollars quickly.
La Romance Conti was 200 thousand dollars per bottle.
None of these people lacked money, but they were more interested in watching Mayra embarrass herself.
Draven glanced at Mayra’s sizzling hot body and then nudged Jordon beside him.
“Not gonna lie. Those legs could keep you entertained for a year.”
Both of these men were Ronan’s friends, often trash–talking Mayra, but Ronan never stepped in.
A stunning woman who was madly in love with him gave him plenty of street cred among other men.
Jordon’s eyes flashed with disdain. Mayra was gorgeous, but she was still a useless waste. “Mayra, drink as much as you want tonight. We’ll cover it
all.”
Ronan immediately opened his mouth to stop him, but it was too late. This wine was worth 200 thousand dollars per bottle, and Mayra’s drinking capacity….
“Jordon, she can hold her liquor,” Ronan started, trying to intervene.
Before he could finish, Mayra uncorked the bottle, smiled at everyone, and said, “Alright, then keep your word.”
Jordon grinned wickedly, already imagining her drunk and embarrassed. He leaned back in his chair.

“I said it. Drink up, Mayra. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you. Ronan doesn’t like you. Everyone in this room can’t stand you. If you get so drunk that someone drags you away, it’ll be on the front page tomorrow, and nobody’s going to help you get the heat off.”
Everyone knew that Viviana was the one the Oliver family cherished most, and Mayra was just the trash nobody wanted.
Mayra grabbed a wineglass, filled it to the brim, and drained the first bottle.
Then she opened the second. And the third.
Jordon’s face went from smug amusement to growing unease, his body twitching as if ants were crawling all over him.
Mayra didn’t seem tipsy at all, as though she could go on drinking for
hours.
By the time 500 thousand dollars had been spent, the atmosphere shifted. Even with their wealth, this wasn’t the kind of game they were used to
playing.
The mood in the room went from rowdy to dead silent. Some were afraid. that Jordon wouldn’t be able to back down and quickly tugged on Ronan’s
sleeve.
Ronan furrowed his brows and shot Mayra a glare. “Enough, Mayra. Stop embarrassing yourself.”
Mayra had finished the fourth bottle by then, and when she heard him, she smiled and replied. “Who are you?”
The room fell quiet, and someone sarcastically chimed in, “What are you pretending for? You came here tonight for Ronan, didn’t you? But at least this time you’re stepping up your game. Now everyone will remember

you.”
Mayra opened the fifth bottle. Jordon’s face turned sour.
Ronan stood up and grabbed Mayra’s wrist. “Enough already. Don’t you want to make a fool of yourself in front of everyone?”
Mayra’s fingers tightened around the wineglass, her gaze locked on Jordon. “If this gentleman can’t pay, maybe someone else can help out.”
Jordon had never been humiliated like this before. His face was practically burning with anger.
“Mayra, it’s because you’re such a drama queen that Ronan can’t stand you. You’re not even close to being on Viviana’s level!”
Mayra slowly finished the last glass and said, “Oh, so you like Viviana?”
Jordon’s expression shifted, his panic apparent. Without thinking, he looked toward Ronan.
Ronan’s face darkened as he shoved Mayra away. “What are you talking about?”
“I’m not saying anything out of line. Just look at your best buddy’s face, and you’ll know,” Mayra replied. “You should check to see if he’s been messing around with Viviana.”
She gathered all five empty bottles together. “1 million dollars. Please pay by card.”
She stretched her hand out to Jordon.
Jordon, feeling guilty and desperate to avoid a scene, handed over his card without hesitation.
After she swiped the card, Mayra glanced at Ronan, her silent look

implying that it was clear that Jordon and Viviana had likely slept. together.
Mayra raised an eyebrow, saying everything without a word.
She turned and left the room to change into her staff uniform in the employee break room.
Suddenly, the door crashed open behind her. Ronan stormed in and grabbed her by the neck.
“Mayra, are you looking to die? You’ve gone too far this time!”
Mayra said such things in front of so many people. How was Ronan supposed to deal with Jordon after this?
Mayra stared at his furious face, a sharp pain stabbed at her chest.
The pressure around her neck increased, and she could barely breathe.
The pain spread from her heart to her limbs, leaving her freezing cold.
“Slap!”
She raised her hand and slapped Ronan across the face.
