Chapter 16

Isla’s voice turned soft but carried a spoiled edge the moment she stepped in. Brother, have you really stopped seeing me as your sister? You missed my birthday, and for days now, you haven’t even replied to my messages. Did I do something to make you hate me this much? You keep pushing me away, but I’ve been thinking about you every single day. I even baked these pastries myself.

She held out the box with a hopeful smile, her effort clear in every delicate curve of her hands. She had never tried this hard to win Chase over before

In the past, a single glance or a subtle hint from her would send him rushing to her side without hesitation

But lately, Chase had been different, distant, and cold, as if the man she knew had vanished

Was it because of Rosalie?

It seemed to have all started the moment Chase found out Rosalie was pregnant

But she hadn’t claimed the Hollis family fortune yet; Chase was still the sharpest blade she couldn’t afford to lose

With that thought tucked in her heart, even when Chase glanced at the pastries and coldly ordered, Just leave them there.

Işla kept her smile intact. She reached into her bag and pulled out a few photos, sliding them toward Chase

Brother, have you been so down lately because of Rosalie? I noticed your mood darkened ever since she left the country.

But I dug a little deeper; her trip wasn’t as innocent as it seemed. Look at these. I’m pretty sure she went overseas to chase some other man.”

The photos were doctored by Isla herself, images of Rosalie with a man on what looked like dates

Nothing scandalous, but the closeness between them was undeniable

The man’s face was always turned away from the camera, hidden from view

Naturally, Chase’s mind immediately leaped to Weston, the man he had just seen on social media

Rage surged through him, and without a second thought, he tore the photos to shreds

So that’s it! They were involved even before she left! Rosalie, how many secrets have you been hiding from me? How long have you been cheating?”

Isla’s wicked smile deepened, her victory clear as she poured gasoline on the flames.

Brother, Rosalie was already pregnant when she went abroad. Who knows if the baby is even yours? She’s not worth your anger.”

Her lips curled with a sinister twist as she handed him a cup of tea. Drink this. Calm down, brother.”

Still burning with fury, Chase downed the tea without hesitation

Almost immediately, warmth spread through his body, and his vision blurred, thickening with haze.

Isla slipped off her coat, leaning close to him, her voice low and teasing. Brother, haven’t you always wanted me? Tonight, I’ll give myself to you”

As she spoke, Isia pulled out her phone, silently recording every moment unfolding before her eyes

With steady coaxing, she led Chase deeper into her trap.

Drugged and disoriented, Chase moved on pure instinct, reaching out for Isla with desperate longing.”

Give meI love you so much”

But in his clouded gaze, all he saw was Rosalie, the woman he had yearned for day after day.”

Rosalie, I miss you so much. Please don’t leave medon’t divorce me

His hands sought Isla’s warmth, even as his voice called out Rosalie’s name.

The words cut Isla like a blade, her teeth grinding with fury

Hearing Rosalie’s name in the recording would shatter her carefully laid plan

Driven by fierce rivalry, Isla pressed on, her voice smooth and relentless

Brother, I’m Isla. I’m your little sister, the one you’ve always loved. Look at mereally see me.

She kept talking, weaving her spell

Then, for a fleeting second, clarity flickered in Chase’s eyes.”

He saw her, Isla and the cruel deception crumbled in an instant.”

With a surge of strength, he shoved her away, voice sharp and commanding

Get out!”
