“I wanted to be closer to your world, to see more of your paintings… And now, that wish has finally come true. Before you returned to Ireland, the place I found myself visiting most was your studio at the Redmond Residence.”
In that moment, time seemed to pause, the two of them enveloped in a silent realm made of colors and brushstrokes.
Weston’s voice softened again. “I didn’t say this earlier because you weren’t here yet… but may I ask, could I buy a few of your paintings?” Rosalie’s lips curved into a gentle smile. “Of course. However, some here are too personal to sell since you care for James so devotedly and have done so much for us both. Take any piece you like. They’re yours.”
“Thank you so much,” Weston replied, barely contained in his steady voice.
As he selected each painting, he spoke with exactness about the emotions she had poured into it.
Rosalie marveled silently. To find someone who understood her so deeply felt like destiny.
When he finished choosing, she captured the moment in a photo, treasuring the memory.
She posted it on social media with the caption, [A soulmate who understands my art, one of life’s greatest blessings.]
At that very moment, Chase, unable to hold back any longer, logged into Rosalie’s social media through an alternate account.
By chance, he saw the photo of her with Weston.
The two looked incredibly close. Rosalie’s gaze toward Weston was filled with deep admiration, and instinctively, Chase knew, as a man, that Weston was definitely after her.
A flash of fury ignited within Chase.W
So, Rosalie biocked him and left the country just to be with this man?
Had she already fallen for someone else?
That thought set off a nameless rage in Chase.}
He barked to his assistant, “Find out which country Rosalie is in right now, where exactly she is!“}
Just then, his phone rang. “Mr. Hollis, there are still a few follow–up procedures to handle regarding your divorce from Rosalie. May I ask…”
“What?! When did I divorce Rosalie?” Chase nearly jumped from his seat, shock rippling through his voice.
The voice on the other end answered calmly, “There’s a divorce agreement signed by both you and Rosalie; it’s been legally effective for some time now.”
Chase sank deep into the sofa, his mind racing. Suddenly, the memory hit him; Rosalie had once handed him a document to sign. He’d been in such a hurry to see Isla that he hadn’t even glanced at it.
That had to be the divorce papers.
But why? He hadn’t even known it was a divorce agreement. He had signed it blindly, unaware of what it truly meant.!!
If he’d known, he would never have signed.
“I don’t accept the divorce!” Chase shouted, slamming down the phone in frustration.
But the next call from his assistant crushed him further, “President, Rosalie’s domestic identity has been completely erased. We’ve exhausted every channel; there’s no record of her anywhere. Finding her now will be nearly impossible.“}
Her identity was gone.
Across the entire country, Rosalie no longer existed.
Whether he accepted the divorce or not, she was no longer his wife.
This wasn’t about jealousy or anger anymore.”
It was a cold, irrevocable decision to vanish and never look back.
“No…” Chase’s heart screamed in denial.
Just then, Isla stepped into his office. “Brother…”
