Chapter 7
The assistant walked in with a group of people, each one carrying at priceless gift.
There was a pink diamond necklace that was super rare, some valuable paintings, and even the deed to a private island.
Everyone in the room was shocked.
“Wait, these are from Mr. Malfoy?”
“I remember hearing that he had someone to bid to the end for Ms. Sophia at the last auction. And now he’s sending her gifts, too? Ms. Sophia has found herself a powerful benefactor!”
People kept whispering about it, and many of them glanced at Elodie with pity in their eyes.
She was clea
more beautiful and had a more legitimate background, yet now it looked like she had lost.
Elodie set down her wine glass and quietly headed out to the balcony.
The night air was cool. She had just started to breathe in deeply when Sophia’s voice appeared behind her, “Elodie, why are you out here by yourself?”
With the guests gone and their father not around; Sophia finally dropped her pretense of kindness.
“Did you know? Dad said you’re going to marry that vegetative guy. Poor thing. Back then, your mom couldn’t beat mine, and now you

can’t beat me either.” She grinned, both sweet and cruel.
Elodie turned around and said, “Say that again?”
Sophia stepped closer, her red lips spitting out the words like poison, “I said, your mom deserved to die giving birth. She…”
Slap!
A sharp slap rang out.
But it wasn’t Elodie who hit her. Sophia slapped herself!
A second later, tears welled up in her eyes as she stumbled backward and fell straight into Sebastian’s arms just as he ran over.
“Don’t be mad at Elodie. It was my fault. I made her angry…” Sophia cried while holding her cheek.
Right after that, David and several guests came hurrying over, drawn by the noise. The sharp looks they gave Elodie felt like they were cutting right through her.
David shouted, “Elodie! Do you even know how to behave in public?”
The guests were all murmuring. Their words hurt her like knives.
“So cruel! Today is Ms. Sophia’s birthday…”
“No wonder. Her mother passed away early, and she grew up without her mother’s love. That’s probably why she turned out like this…”
Watching the carefully staged spectacle unfold, Elodie suddenly laughed.
She walked up and, without a word, slapped Sophia across the face

right in front of everyone.
“Open your eyes,” she said clearly, then threw the champagne glass to the floor. The shards sparkled under the lights, mirroring all the shocked faces around her. “This time, it really was me.”
As she turned to leave, her eyes caught sight of Sebastian’s cold gaze. He held Sophia tightly, his expression cold and distant.
Just as Elodie rounded the corner of the garden path, a hand suddenly grabbed her wrist with force.
Sebastian’s power was so intense that she felt like her bones might
break.
“Ms. Elodie,” his voice was quiet but heavy with hidden anger.
“What?” Elodie looked up with a mocking smile, “I hit her once. Are you planning to hit me 99 times back?”
Sebastian’s eyes narrowed a bit.
What is she trying to say? Could it be that she knows about the last time?
No way, he did it secretly.
He softened slightly, frowning, “Ms. Elodie, you have everything, so why do you keep picking on Ms. Sophia?”
“I have everything?” Elodie suddenly burst out laughing, but it was rough and sounded more like crying, “What do I have? When she arrived, she made my mom so upset that she died giving birth, two lives lost! She moved in and took my room, my toys, my allowance, and my dad! Even my chance to study abroad, everything I once owned!”

Chapter 7
This was the first time Sebastian had heard her say so much. In the moonlight, Elodie’s eyes, usually filled with sarcasm, were now full of tears, but she stubbornly kept them from falling.
Sebastian said coldly, “I heard that Ms. Sophia is the one who is living a hard life.”
Elodie brushed him off and started to walk away. “Believe it if you
want.”
Before getting into the car, Sebastian spoke again, “Ms. Elodie, I want to take a few days off.”
“Do whatever you want,” she said, closing the car door without looking back.
After the black car drove for a while, she suddenly told the driver, “Turn around.”
When they got close to the Rowland’s residence again, she saw Sebastian getting into a Rolls–Royce.
Elodie asked her driver to follow quietly from behind, and they finally stopped in front of a high–end tattoo studio
Looking through the glass window, she saw Sebastian unbuttoning his shirt, showing his strong chest.
The tattoo artist asked a question, then pointed at his chest near the heart and said one word. From the way their lips moved, it was. “Sophia“. –
