Chapter 2
When Sebastian looked up, Elodic noticed an unfathomable darkness. in his eyes.
Perhaps because he was used to being in control, his expression
remained calm despite being caught in such an embarrassing situation.
He calmly tucked the photo back under his pillow. His long fingers, calm and steady, pushed the bulge into his pants.
Within seconds, he was back to his usual restrained and detached demeanor, as though the man who had just lost control was nothing more than an illusion.
She sneered and asked sarcastically, “Aren’t you worried about being uncomfortable for not finishing? Do you want me to help you?”
He remained unfazed and merely leaned back to put more distance between them. “Did Ms. Eloise come here for something?”
He had always treated her that way. While he could get worked up just by looking at a picture of Sophia, he remained aloof and cold whenever he was with her.
Elodie’s nails dug into her palm as she thought of Sophia’s dull and pallid appearance.
She didn’t have her curves or beauty, yet people continued to fall for her innocent act.
But none of that mattered because Elodie had the looks, the money, and the body. From now on, she wasn’t going to waste her time on

anyone who didn’t like her.
“There’s an auction tomorrow and you’re coming with me,” she instructed coldly before turning to leave.
Upon hearing this, Sebastian frowned. “I thought I had two days off…”
“I heard Sophia will be there,” she stated without turning her head.
There was a slight pause behind her before his low voice replied, “Understood, Ms. Eloise.”
At that moment, a sharp pain stabbed through Elodie’s chest.
She wasn’t surprised that the moment Sophia’s name was mentioned, all of his so–called principles disappeared.
It didn’t matter because she would shortly deliver him to her.
The next morning, Elodie had just stepped out of the villa when she noticed Sebastian was already waiting for her beside the car.
The black suit hugged his broad shoulders and narrow waist perfectly, and the morning sunlight cast a golden edge on his cold, handsome. profile.
During moments like these, she would usually tease him by pretending to twist her ankle and fall into his arms, or leaning in close to whisper in his ear. But today, she climbed into the car without a word, her expression blank, not even sparing him a glance.
Sebastian was taken aback, and he stared at her a second longer than usual before turning away and quietly sitting in the passenger seat.

Chapter 2
As the car headed toward the auction venue, Elodie stared out the window and remained unusually quiet. She didn’t come up with excuses to strike up conversations with him like she used to. The silence in the car was so still that they could hear each other’s breathing.

The auction was held at the city’s most luxurious hotel.
Crystal chandeliers illuminated the grand hall as brightly as daylight. At the same time, the air was thick with the scent of perfume and the unmistakable aura of power carried only by the elite and aristocrats.
Elodie had barely stepped inside when she spotted Sophia standing ahead. She was wearing a white dress, her long black hair cascading over her shoulders, chatting and laughing with a few other heiresses. She looked sweet, innocent, and harmless.
Sebastian’s attention shifted instantly to Sophia.
Though he stood behind Elodie like a respectable bodyguard, she could see his focus shifting totally to Sophia.
“Elodie!” Sophia noticed them and dashed over, enthusiastically joining arms with her. “What a coincidence! Are you also here for the auction?”
Elodie pulled her arm away coldly and spat, “Don’t touch me.”
Sophia’s eyes instantly pooled with tears. She turned to Sebastian and cried, “Sebastian, I only wanted to get closer to Elodie…”
Sebastian’s brows furrowed slightly, and he glared at Elodie with contempt.

“I heard you were the one who went out in the middle of a rainstorm to get me a chocolate cake when I had a fever. I was too sick to thank you. properly back then, and I’ve been recovering ever since.” Sophia grabbed his sleeve.
In an instant, Sebastian’s expression softened, and he said, “You’re too kind, Ms. Sophia. It was on the way.”
When Elodie heard this, she chuckled coldly in her heart.
He had been gone for five hours that day, and when he returned, he was completely drenched. There was no way he got the cake on the way.
“I have to treat you to a meal!” Sophia beamed.
This time, he didn’t reject. “I’ll go with whatever you arrange.”
“Let’s invite Elodie too!” Sophia looked at Elodie and suddenly frowned as she asked with concern, “I was the one who fell sick, but why do you look tired?”
Before she could finish her sentence, Elodie cut her off abruptly. “Mind your own business, daughter of the mistress!”
Sophia’s expression faltered, and Sebastian’s frown intensified even further.
Just then, the auctioneer announced the beginning of the auction and saved them from the escalating tension.
Elodie didn’t bother wasting time on either of them and directly went to her seat.
She was about to marry into the Watson family soon, and she knew she couldn’t count on David for a proper marriage settlement. Hence, her

real reason for attending this auction was to get herself one.
The first item was presented just as she sat down. It was a red diamond necklace with a starting bid of 200 thousand dollars.
“350 thousand dollars.” She lifted her paddle without hesitation.
Surprisingly, Sophia also lifted her paddle. “500 thousand dollars.”
Sophia smiled at her and said, “I really like this one. Do you mind letting me have it? After all, Dad gives you less pocket money than me,
I don’t think you’ll have enough.”
SO
Elodie couldn’t help but sneer at her remarks. Calling it “less” was an understatement. Sophia had been receiving 900 thousand dollars every month since childhood, while she had only 900 dollars.
Without her mother’s fortune, Elodie would most likely be starving by
now.
But now, she had 2 billion dollars.
“680 thousand dollars.” Elodie raised her paddle again.
Seeing this, Sophia froze and clenched her teeth. “700 thousand dollars.”
“850 thousand dollars.”
“900 thousand dollars.”
Sophia’s expression became progressively sour with each round. “Elodie, where did you get all this money? Aren’t you worried that you won’t be able to pay?”
“1.6 million dollars!” Elodie raised the price in one go. She then
looked at Sophia with a smirk. “Funny, I was just thinking you’re the one who can’t afford it.”
Hearing this, Sophia’s expression turned pale, and the guests began to whisper among themselves.
The auctioneer turned to look at her and asked, “Ms. Sophia, would you like to raise your bid?”
“Give me a moment!” Sophia instantly took out her phone and texted.
David.
A moment later, she looked worse than before. Clearly, she had been
turned down.
Elodie couldn’t help but chuckle when she saw this.
Of course, he would refuse. After giving her the 2 billion dollars, what money did he have left to let his precious daughter show off?
Just as the situation turned awkward, a man in a suit stepped into the venue and shouted, “I offer unlimited bidding!”
