“Wesley, have you switched from business to thuggery? Azalea sneered as she tried to pull away from the grasp of the bodyguards.
Wesley’s response was swift and harsh; he hurled a cup of hot water in her direction, yelling. “Shut up! Would I need to come here if you hadn’t disgraced yourself?”
Azalea barely dodged, tilting her head just enough to avoid the full brunt, but still, the water splashed across her face, scalding a small area
She bit back a cry of pain.
Seeing the red mark forming. Wesley momentarily regretted his action, blurting out. “Why didn’t you move out of the way?” If the cup had hit her directly, it might have left a lasting scar.
Azalea met his gaze, her voice laced with irony, “Isn’t that what you wanted? To mark me?”
His patience worn thin by her words, Wesley growled, “I have no daughter as disgraceful as you! Even if I have to use violence on you, you’re coming home!”
As the bodyguards began to pull her away, Carla intervened, “Sir, is it really proper to forcibly take Ms. Yarrow from here!”
Langdon had already summoned the bodyguards when Wesley acted. If Azalea was taken away, explaining the situation to Hubert would be challenging.
Meanwhile, Wesley and Azalea continued their verbal spar. “As long as you don’t kill me, I’ll make sure to return the favor one day!” Azalea warned them.
Wesley, infuriated, nearly lashed out again, but Cassius stepped in, trying to smooth things over, “Azalea, Dad’s just upset because you’re not acting right and wants to take you home. Let’s go back and talk it over.”
She got it. This family believed she had gotten involved with some old man and was causing trouble. Absurd!
“You’re insane, spreading rumors without proof. And Wesley, did you forget the contract you signed? You’re just spewing
nonsense!
“And C
“And Cassius, always playing the hero–save it. I don’t need your sanctimony.”
Azalea took turns tearing into Wesley and Cassius.
Wesley was furious enough to choke her right there, and even the usually collected Cassius could not hide his annoyance. Panting with rage, Wesley pointed at Azalea, yelling, “No evidence? We know you got that old man to mess with William and smear Sydney. Won’t you ever admit your mistakes?”
“Smear Sydney?” Azalea laughed bitterly.
Did Sydney really need her help to ruin her own reputation?
Furning, Azalea shot back, “Do any of you even think? Why don’t you get your heads checked to see if stupidity runs in the family?”
The villa was in uproar when a chilling voice cut through the noise.
“You two might have chosen the wrong place to cause trouble.” Before they even saw him, Ace and Deuce burst through with their team, shoving aside the guards grabbing Azalea and circling protectively around her.
As they cleared a path, Hubert walked in, his expression icy as he moved to stand beside Azalea.
He scanned her from head to toe, his face hardening further when he noticed the swelling on her face, the warmth to his eyes turning to frost.
The anger in his gaze was palpable to anyone looking.
Wesley, caught off guard by the newcomer, thought in shock, Hubert? Why is he here?

Hubert, who was typically well–groomed, now appeared slightly disheveled, flanked by Ace and Deuce, ready to handle the
situation.
When was the last time Hubert had been this angry? It must have been when Wylie was harassed.
The audacity of the Larks to harm someone under Hubert’s protection was astonishing. How daring must they be?
Having just concluded a negotiation. Hubert’s assistant hurriedly returned his phone to him. The normally calm businessman was visibly agitated.
He drove back himself, and as soon as he arrived, he stormed into the villa with his team.
Hubert’s frustration was evident; he was a moment too late, and Azalea had already been harmed.
Under his intense gaze, even though both Wesley and Cassius were experienced business figures, they felt uncomfortable pressure.
Wesley attempted a conciliatory smile, “I see, this is your property, Mr. Lennox. We truly didn’t mean to intrude.”
Hubert scoffed dismissively.
“Mr. Lark, do I look that old to you?”
The comment made Wesley’s face flush with embarrassment–he had just referred to Hubert as an old man!
Cassius felt a chill run down his spine, not having anticipated that Azalea’s backer would be Hubert.
“Mr. Lennox, this is all just a big misunderstanding, he tried to explain.
“Misunderstanding?” Hubert stepped forward, causing both men to instinctively retreat.
He towered slightly over Cassius, “Your idea of a misunderstanding is breaking into my home, assaulting my people. attempting to ab
duct my guest, and insulting me as an old man?”
