“Lyra, wait!”
Chapter 7
Lyra’s POV
Lucian’s gaze darkened as it settled on Tristan.
I smirked and gave him a glance.
“Go wait in the car.” I told Lucian
Though clearly reluctant, Lucian obeyed after pressing a possessive kiss to my hips–an unmistakable declaration of ownership.
Tristan’s eyes remained locked on me, filled with confusion. “How can you be with the Alpha King? How is he your mate?”
His question struck me as odd.
“Why wouldn’t he be my mate?”
His face darkened, as
struggling to understand how I could find someone far superior to him.
I chuckled mockingly. “I work hard and strive to improve myself. I deserve the best.”
“Truthfully, Tristan, you were never that special.”
Other than being a skilled liar, I truly saw no redeeming qualities in him,
With that, I turned to leave.
Bun Tristan grabbed my wrist, his eyes reddening, “I know I’m not exceptional, but you were my mate–my 1.
Luna! How can you be with someone else?”
His logic baffled me, but that didn’t stop me from countering it with my own.
“We severed the mate bond long ago. In two lifetimes, you rejected me both times. Tristen, twice, you chose Estelle over me. The best thing you can do now is disappear from my sight.”
willing to let go
His grip tightened as he shook his head, unwilling to let go
“How did you meet him?”
Thesitated.
In our previous lives, it wasn’t just the three of us who had been reborn.
The night we were ambushed near the Moon Tree, Lucian had been caught in the attack as well. When he opened his eyes, he found himself back in the past, just like I had
He began investigating the circumstances surrounding his return, which eventually led him to me.
Over time, we discovered that we were mates.
but the scars Tristan left on me ran deep. It took us six long years of push and pull before we inally arrived at where we are now
I pressed my lips together and responded coldly, “That’s none of your r concern.”
With that, I turned and walked away.
Tristan hurried after me “Lyra, do you still have feelings for me?
It dignity his question with an answer.
After everything he had door to me in our previous lives, the fact that I wasn’t seelding revenge was already merciful.
More importantly, I had finally found someone I wanted to spend my life with.
I refused to let unnecessary entanglements disrupt that.
As for Estelle, I only sought justice.
She had damaged Tristan’s sapphire. Whether he chose to hold her accountable wasn’t my concern, but I would make sure she was punished for
defamation
However, WE DEVE
never expected this incident to unravel an even larger conspiracy,
Tristan refused to sign a letter of forgiveness and insisted on the harshest punishment for Estelle.
In retaliation, Estelle dragged Tristan down with her, exposing that he had never deserved the sapphire to begin with. She claimed that his so–called strategic expertise had always been her work.
The two of them turned on each other, tearing their once–perfect alliance apart.
As the situation unfolded, I finally understood the fill picture.
In our previous lives, Estelle had been a spy, infiltrating various packs. Tristan, on the other hand, had been nothing more than an average Alpha with no real tactical skills.
But in this life, they had capitalized on deception.
After being reborn, Estelle and Tristan quickly hit it off and began traveling around, aiding packs and defending against rogues.
However, in reality, they were secretly gathering intelligence on each pack’s weakest defenses and passing the information to the rogues, allowing them to launch attacks.
Tristan would then swoop in as the so–called ‘savior, rescuing the pack and demanding an exorbitant defense fee–only to split the profits with the
rogies.
Meanwhile, he alone took all the glory, building his reputation as a mighty Alpha warrior.
Their scheme had earned them both wealth and fame.
But all deceptions eventually unravel.
I felt nothing upon learning the truth–just mild amusement.
In our previous lives, rogues had ended our lives. Now, they had chosen to collude with them.
Some people never learn.
During this time, I was still busy in the emergency department, while Lucian took full charge of preparing our mating ceremony
“A rogue attack has occurred! The Crescent pack’s pack doctor is requesting backup!”
Upon hearing this, I rushed out to the scene without delay.
When I arrived at the pack, chaos reigned everywhere. Many houses were on fire, billowing smoke, and there was blood splattered on the trees.
I continued inward and found Tristan lying in a pool of blood.
