Chapter 4
Chapter 5
Lyra’s POV
Tristan stormed in, clutching the damaged sapphire in his hands, his expression filled with rage.
“I offered you money out of pity, and this is how you repay me? Sabotaging my jewel? You’re despicable, Lyral”
My gaze fell on the pensione.
Once flawless and brilliant, the sapphire now bore a glaring crack that ruined its entire structure.
Looking at the two of them seething with anger, I felt nothing but impatience
&
“I’ve never even seen that sapphire before. Instead of falsely accusing me, why don’t you check the surveillance footage and find out who really did it?”
I had been busy all day and just wanted to announce the good news quickly so I could go home and rest
But Estelle coldly dismissed my suggestion.
“Tristan and I are always escorted by bodyguards, and the sapphire was entrusted to the staff at the front desk. No one else went there except you when you paid your bill. It has to be you”
A flicker of unease crossed the faces of the Alphas and Lunas.
They quickly tried to mediate
“Lyra, you were the only one who left the room. Just apologize to Tristan and Estelle–it’s all in the family. They won’t hold it against you.”
“Exactly! That sapphire is worth five million! If they really make you pay for it, you’ll never afford it. Just admit your mistake and smooth things over.” Estelle lifted her chin arrogantly, her voice icy.
“Kneel, and I’ll have the compensation. You only need to compensate two million.”
Tristan threw in his demand, his voice laced with malice.
“Apologize properly, and I might forgive you. Otherwise, I’ll see you in the Werewolf Court.”
I rubbed my temples, exhaustion creeping into my voice.
“I already told you I had nothing to do with it. If you insist, call the enforcers, then
The manager arrived–only to freeze as all staff abruptly bowed toward the entrance.
The room fell silent as the waitstaff, standing in neat rows by the entrance, bowed respectfully to the man who had just stepped inside.
Amidst the chaos, I suddenly found myself pulled into the warmth of a familiar embrace
“Lyra, what’s going on?”
Lucian’s voice was filled with concern as he studied me closely
“Headache again?!
Without hesitation, he placed a hand on my temple, massaging it gently as if no one else were present.
Estelle narrowed her eyes and snapped coldly, “Who are e you?
The moment Lucian saw her face, a dark, dangerous glint flashed through his eyes.
The banquet hall manager fimmediately bowed and addressed him with deep respect.
