Chapter 2
Lyra’s POV
His words sent a momentary haze over my mind.
In my previous life, Tristan and I belonged to the same pack. He was the Alpha, and I was just an ordinary pack member, but we had grown up together and shared a deep bond.
When we discovered that we were mates, I was overjoyed, dreaming of a blissful future as his Luna. We eagerly anticipated the birth of our future children, believing our love was unshakable.
But everything changed the summer after our mating ceremony.
That year, Estelle came to our pack for the summer. Tristan went completely still the instant his eyes landed an Estelle.
At first, I thought nothing of it. But as time passed, I noticed his growing distance. He became absent–minded, started avoiding me, and even refused to share a room with me.
A woman’s intuition is never wrong. Something was happening–something he was hiding. Yet, I refused to believe it.
After all, we were fated mates. He had marked me. How could he possibly betray me?
But then, he started coming horse late, snealding glances at his phone more frequently. My heart told me it was impossible, but my mind had already reached a painful conclusion–he was cheating,
One night, after a long shift at the hospital, I returned home only to find Tristan outside our house, holding Estelle in a tight embrace
That was the moment my world shattered.
I lost control, like a madwoman, screaming at him, demanding to know why. I asked if he had ever truly loved me
His response crushed me.
He shoved me to the ground, his grip unyielding as he glared down at
at me with cold, disdainful eyes.
“Look yourself, Lyra! Disheveled, unkempt, with dark circles under your eyes from working all night–you look like an old heg twenty years past her prime! Estelle is everything you’re not–bright, beautiful, and vibrant, She’s the kind of Luma I deserve! You and me, fated mates? That was a mistake! A cruel joke of late!”
The man I had trusted most, the one I had loved beyond reason, had turned on me for another woman.
His gentle gate was gone, replaced by nothing but resentment and disgust.
The irony choked me
Before Estelle, he’d worshipped the ground I walked on. He’d fret over my late shifts, praise my dedication to our future, understood my strong–willed nature, because he knew I did it all for us, and the pack
Them someone new appeared. She was my complete opposite–something new and exciting the pulled him in until he was utterly consumed.
I could understand if he had grown weary of routine. But betraying our mate boud? That I could never forgive.
When the truth exposed, Tristan didn’t hesitate–be rejected me and determined to sever our bond.
I had lost everything Broken and empty, I finally accepted.
Under the Moon Tree, as we prepared to cut the last threads of our bond, emotions ran high, and Estelle, standing by his side, wasted no opportunity to
one of us noticed the rogues hidden in the shadows.
A silver arrow shot from the darkness, piercing my heart. Pain consumed me, and my vision faded.
en again,
returned to the day of our mating ceremony–the day he was meant to make in his Luna.
Derromised to escape my tragle fate, I made a different choice.
Det them each other.
He made Extelle Idas Luna, ruling the pack together as he became elite Alpha warrior, Meanwhile, I finally returned to the work I loved–scalpel in hand
