Isabel was confident and had a strong voice.
Evelyn glanced at the resume in front of George, Isabel’s resume had no work experience, but listed a number of artistic skills.
Dancing, playing the piano, painting…
Evelyn frowned and turned to George, asking in a low voice, “Shouldn’t this person have been eliminated in the first round, since they had no work experience and their expertise didn’t match?”
George shook his head, “It was Mr. Wilson’s decision.”
Evelyn was taken aback and couldn’t help but show a bitter smile.
Indeed.
The answer was already in her heart, but she still had to humiliate herself by asking.
After Isabel finished introducing herself.
Evelyn asked, “Ms. Caster, what do you think the responsibilities of a secretary were? Are you capable of handling them?”
This question went straight to the core, without any mercy.
Isabel was taken aback.
He then smiled confidently and said, “Although I had no work experience, I knew four languages and had a strong ability to learn.”
Isabel paused for a moment, then looked up and stared into Evelyn’s eyes, her meaning unclear. “I heard that Ms. Gomez also joined this prestigious company right after graduation and got the offer by virtue of her proficiency in four languages. I believe I am also capable of handling it.”
Evelyn remained silent.
This similar scene made her mind drift back to five years ago
In the beginning, she was full of confidence and successfully passed three tests and six interviews to come before Martin
He also asked this question, and then changed her life
And then, time moved forward.
She went from being a subordinate, a wife, to becoming an ex–wife, a deceased person….
When Evelyn came to her senses, Isabel had already left.
The next day, the personnel notice came down.
Martin gave the final approval.
Skipping the positions of secretary one, two, and three, Isabel directly assumed the role of his personal secretary and started following Martin on a business trip on the same day.
Evelyn heard the news and froze.
It took her a year to go from being a third–tier secretary to becoming Martin’s personal secretary.
And Isabel, she only needed one word from him.
Evelyn felt helpless, with an inexplicable bitterness squeezing her empty heart.
A week later, Martin finally returned.
Evelyn was organizing the project proposal, getting ready to find him for his signature.

She had been involved in this project for over a year, almost completing a project worth nearly billions.
That was how it was in the previous life. Once this project was completed, she would become the project department manager when she returned after giving birth to her child
This is probably what people call love life failure and career success.
Passing by the pantry, Evelyn faintly heard the gossiping voices inside and couldn’t help but stop in her tracks.
Jenny exclaimed angrily, “Oh my goodness, did you guys know? I heard that Ms. Caster was Mr. Wilson’s first love!”
Another person sneered, “Is this the rhythm of reuniting broken mirrors?”
“But didn’t Mr. Wilson get married?”
“Oh my, it’s a high–profile marriage, but it’s all show and no substance. I heard from Secretary Young, who went on a business trip with me this time, that Mr. Wilson even booked a Michelin three–star restaurant exclusively for Ms. Caster!”
“Isk, is this a business trip or a date? Where should the legitimate wife be placed.
Each word pierced Evelyn’s heart.
She tightly clenched the project proposal in her hand, her throat felt constricted as it something was choking her, and every breath she
took was painful
It took her a while to come to her senses, slowly smoothing out the wrinkled pages.
No problem.
Since they were planning to divorce anyway, it didn’t matter to them how it affected her.
She calmed herself down and walked resolutely towards the general office.
I was about to knock on the door when it opened from the inside.
Isabel stood at the door and, seeing herself outside, smiled.
This smile, however, inexplicably made Evelyn’s heart sink.
She walked slowly into the office.
Martin was busy writing something without even lifting his head.
Without wasting any words, she quickly said, “Mr. Wilson, the Star Group’s project is almost finished. Take a look, and if there are no issues, you can sign it.” After speaking, she placed the project document on the table.
Martin finally lifted his head, but when he glanced at the project book, he didn’t make any move.
Evelyn was puzzled, and his response exploded in the room like a thunderbolt
“This project was then taken over by Isabel, and you will coordinate with her.”
