Chapter 5
Rows of audience faces flashed rapidly on the big screen.
The moment the scene paused.
I saw my own reflection unexpectedly. The camera seemed to mistake me and the boy as a couple, and people around were shouting for us to kiss.
The boy quickly took out a photo from his pocket and raised it forcefully towards the camera.
She was his girl
The microphone was handed to me, and I couldn’t speak for a moment.
Finally, I just watched the singer I have liked for many years on the stage and softly said, “I hope more and more people will see you and like you.”
“I hope you were getting better and better.”
“I don’t know what to say either, so I wish all of you present—
“They could all live to be a hundred years old.”
People around me were laughing, perhaps not understanding why my wishes were so ordinary and vague.
The camera quickly cut away.
The moment the melody of the song started playing, I saw the boy beside me gently caressing the contours of the girl in the photo.
Red–eyed, speaking very softly.
“Wishing me to live a long life for every ye
At that moment, I didn’t know why.
I suddenly felt like crying
The concert ended.
I forced myself to go home.
year.”
I forgot to close the window in the morning, and the room was freezing cold.
I closed the window, removed my makeup, and threw myself onto the bed.
I casually scrolled through a short video platform and was unexpectedly pushed a new video that might feature someone I know.
The opponent’s ID is “Kella“.
In the video, the little girl changed into a pure white wedding dress, and the man she was holding had his face blurred.
Her eyes were inexperienced, yet they concealed a strong ambition.
“Countdown of 6 days, my boyfriend is going to marry someone else!!
“To have you again for a few days, how I wish this moment could become forever.”
In the scene, Quinten gently wrapped his arm around the girl’s waist. His movements were tender.
Five days remained until the countdown.
I was in a pretty good mood today.
I got up early and did something limportant.
Quinten donated all of his belongings that were stored with me.
Eight digits, not a penny left
Quinten betrayed me emotionally, but he had no reservations in our life together. Over the years, he almost transferred all the money he earned to me, keeping only enough for his daily expenses.
Finally, I left Quinten’s name
After all, it was his money that he donated, which could be considered as accumulating some good karma for him.
Chapter 5
As for my savings, I donated half of it and kept the other hall to spend.
It is extremely painful when life is coming to an end.
So I had to leave myself a way out, and not let myself go through any more painful experiences.
The person hadn’t lied yet, but the money had already been spent. However
Just as I walked out of the charity organization’s gate, unexpectedly, everything went black before my eyes and I lost consciousness.
When I woke up again, I was already lying in the hospital bed
The nurse said that they had made many phone calls to the emergency contacts using my phone, but no one answered.
My emergency contact person was only Quinten.
later.”
“Sorry, I will go downstairs to make the payment late
The doctor advised me to be hospitalized with a serious expression on his face, “If you don’t receive treatment soon, you may not make it through the next six months.”
I smiled and asked him, “What about the treatment?”
“I cannot guarantee how the condition developed, but I can assure you that as long as there is a glimmer of hope, we will do our best to treat it.”
In fact, even
n if it was treated, the hope was still slim.
“Thank you, doctor.”
“Could you please help me with the discharge process?”
Just as Quinten stepped out of the office, his phone rang
“I was busy just now and didn’t hear.” “What happened?”
I looked at the familiar figure at the other end of the corridor and said, “It’s okay, my phone was lost, but a kind passerby helped me dial the emergency
Contact
“It’s good that everything is fine. The wedding is coming up soon, is there anything you need?”
“No.”
Another silence fell.
Kella Doyle’s displeased voice came from over there, “Hurry up, the ice cream has melted.”
Quinten spoke up. “Call me anytime if you need anything.”
The phone hung up, and I frowned as I looked at the familiar person not far away.
The owner of the tattoo shop.
Chapter 6
She was bending down to pick up the wig knocked off by a passing child
As I looked up, our eyes inet,
“Is it you?” She obviously recognized me
She straightened her crooked wig
“I didn’t tell you last time, but actually we are puite similar, both short lived souls”
“That day, Thad originally planned to close the store,” she smiled, “you are the best customer of my career.“”
“What illness?
“Leukemia”
She smiled indifferently and said, “There’s nothing to be done.”
We walked out of the hospital side by side, and I took out a cigarette and gave her one. We struggled to light each other’s cigarettes in the cold wind
They exchanged a glance,
We suddenly laughed
They were two umlacky bastards.
We smiled and watched the smoke dissipate in the wind, as if our impending ending was approaching
I changed my flight ticket.
No longer going abroad.
Michelle Maddox and I booked tickets together to fly to Reddale
My body could no longer withstand the journey to the other side of the ocean.
It was probably destined that I would never have the opportunity to see foreign scenery in this lifetime
The two of us, being like–minded souls, agreed instantly and both wanted to go see Lake Hanwich, Last night, Kella posted another new video.
“Countdown of 5 days, thank you for being willing to endure fear and accompany me bungee jumping. ”
“I loved you too.”
In the video, Quinten n and her tied safety ropes, stood on a hundred–meter high platform, embraced each other and jumped off.
Because he was afraid of heights, his body was slightly stiff.
But still, at the moment of leaping down, he shouted loudly.
“I loved you!”
“Kella”
However, upon careful listening, the pronunciation of the last two words is not Kella“.
But it was Kierra.
The wedding was four days away.
Michelle asked me if there was anything else I wanted to do. I thought for a moment and asked her to accompany me to meet someone.
On the way, Michelle asloed me, “Is she your friend?” I shook my head, “On the contrary, she is my… archenemy.”
Michelle raised an eyebrow but didn’t ask.
He also accompanied me to the flower shop on the way and ordered a bouquet of flowers.
Regina Bruce was the fiercest woman on several streets in Eastern District.
One person managed seven or eight bars, being ruthless to others and equally ruthless to himself.
We had been engaged in a power struggle for several years
No one gained any advantage.
Chapter &
I was stopped as soon as I entered the bar with Michelle.
She was called out by someone and frowned at me, “What are you here for again?……
I came to scold you, old woman.”
She instantly changed her facial expression.
He continued to curse loudly.
I stayed with her and cursed for halt an hour, I felt relieves.
He casually picked up the wine next to him and took a sip. He wanted to take a second sip, but Michelle stopped him.
“Just give it a try.”
I gave up reluctantly.
Waving towards Regina “Alright, I’m leaving”
“You should also retrain from fighting and killing in the future, and settle down earlier.”
“Otherwise, where would I find the energy to look for my younger brother in the future?”
I had already walked out of the bar, but I could still hear Regina asking the person next to her in astonishment, “Damn, what did she come here for? Just to scold me for halt an hour?”
“No, is she sick?
I turned around and happened to see her kick the little brother next to her. “Did I just scold you for losing? I didn’t perform well just now.”
I laughed and went out
Perhaps due to the impending death, the long–standing archenemy surprisingly appeared adorable over the years.
On the way home, my phone suddenly vibrated.
Regina gave me a bouquet of roses. “Did you send them?” “Yes.”
The other party remained silent for nearly two minutes, and then the messages kept coming.
Regina “What did it mean when you gave me flowers?”
“The little girl only liked flowers, why would I care about them?”
“Did you fucking hide explosives in the flowers?”
‘Kierra, don’t think that giving a bouquet of flowers can ease the relationship,”
“This is not the first time in my life that I have received flowers.
“The flowers looked pretty. Thank you.”
“Let’s have a meal together next time.”
I looked at my phone, smiled, and slowly typed back to her, “Hmm, there is a chance.”
