A subtle smile spread across Raelynn’s lips as she turned to meet Kendrick’s gaze. Her lips continued to curl, and she spoke with quiet intensity, “My father killed his mother, and he took his revenge on me. I spent two years and seven months in prison for him. I gave him a kidney, had his child, and cried so much I nearly ran out of tears.”
Seeing the shock and panic in his eyes, Raelynn’s smile widened, her eyes narrowing. She spoke slowly, each word biting, “Later, I hid in Astua, had plastic surgery, and came back to sleep with him again.
“Well, he seems to know who I am now.”
Kendrick was almost trembling with despair, tears immediately welling up in his eyes.
Raelynn sat up, her seductive gaze lingering as she smiled with a faint sneer. She watched him plunge into madness under the weight of her words.
“Kendrick, all the contracts I’ve had you sign over the past six months are still valid. How you treated me before, well, now it’s your turn to experience it.”
She flashed a victorious smile, the thrill of revenge igniting inside her, spreading through her entire body.
What surprised Raelynn, however, was Kendrick’s response.
His eyes reddened as he stared at her, his gaze full of joy and gratitude for something returned.
He trembled with excitement, his entire body shaking.
Indeed, it was true. Hearing her admit it, Kendrick felt nothing but overwhelming happiness and complex emotions.
There was no trace of the hatred from before, no anger over being deceived.
She had returned. That was enough.
If it was karma, he accepted it.
If it was doomed romance, he accepted that too.
“You finally admit you’re Raelynn, huh?” Kendrick said, his tone calm. It doesn’t matter. As long as you’re with me, I’ll stand by you. Whatever you want to do, I’ll agree to it.”
Raelynn looked at his smile, and her face slowly hardened.
She couldn’t quite explain the odd feeling rising in her chest, but she assumed it was just anger and embarrassment. She locked eyes with him, her voice firm, “Kendrick, don’t you understand? I’ll send you to prison, just like how you sent me
there.
“Fine. I’ll go.”
He agreed instantly, as if he hadn’t even thought about it.
Raelynn paused, a wave of confusion and panic washing over her, disrupting her previously clear thoughts.
No! This isn’t right.
Why is he reacting like this?
Why isn’t he angry? He didn’t even seem shocked.
His voice was so calm, as if he had already accepted the idea of going to prison.
Something is wrong.
Raelynn’s expression shifted, and her eyes lost their calm. If you think I’m just trying to scare you, let me make this clear: you shouldn’t even entertain that thought.”

Linda, this evidence is pretty strong. Can we sue now?”
It wasn’t until her assistant’s second reminder that Raelynn snapped out of her thoughts.
