Until the dream ended, the woman never looked back at him, not even once.
Only her voice echoed in Kendrick’s mind, a sound he would never forget.

“Kendrick, this time it’s truly over between us. This is the last time we’ll part ways. In this life, and the next, and the one after that, I never want to see you again.”
In the deep, silent night, broken furniture lay scattered everywhere.
The cigarette butts under the man’s bed were too many to count. Kendrick smoked recklessly, as though life itself didn’t matter anymore. The despair in his eyes was so heavy it could make the night cry.
True forgetting isn’t about never thinking of someone. It was when, every now and then, you thought of them and felt nothing.
But the overwhelming flood of longing only proved one thing–his feelings ran deeper than the sea.
The worst was when, in the quiet of the night, you think of someone, and despite the bustling crowds around you, you realize you’ll never meet them again.
Kendrick had always believed he lost Raelynn, until tonight when he finally understood.
Raelynn hadn’t gone anywhere. She had always been there.
It was him who had completely lost himself.
Two days later.
When Raelynn arrived, at Kendrick’s office, just as usual, he had already returned to work.
She walked in, her high heels clicking seductively against the floor, and sat on his desk with a playful smile. “You haven’t looked for me these past couple of days.”
Raelynn squinted her eyes, teasing him. “What’s the matter? Have you made up your mind to ditch me for that fierce woman you’ve got at home?”
Kendrick paused his typing and finally lifted his gaze to meet hers.
“No.”
“Then what is it?”
“I don’t want any of you.”
His tone was flat, distant, completely different from the man he used to be.
Raelynn blinked, her brows furrowed.
In the past, whenever she sat on the desk, Kendrick would pull her onto his lap, and they would fall into a passionate embrace.
But today, there was none of that.
Kendrick was more composed than ever before,
Raelynn felt something had changed, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on it.
“Is there anything else? If not, you can leave now,”
Kendrick turned his attention to a video call, preparing for an upcoming international meeting.

One week later, when Kendrick received a text message, news had already spread through Oasis Group that Linda would be transferred back to the Astua headquarters.
He looked down at the message on his screen-“The Last Supper,” signed, Linda.
On the other side, Raelynn sat before her vanity, finishing her makeup with a final dusting of setting powder. She looked at herself in the mirror. satisfied with the results.
This makeup look, resembling her pre–surgery face, was at least 60 percent the same.
“Kendrick, this is my special surprise for you.”
At Cloud Retreat, in the private dining room.
Raelynn arrived half an hour earlier than the scheduled time. She ordered the food and then sat on the sofa, taking out a mirror from her bag.
She checked her makeup carefully, staring at her long–forgotten, familiar face. Memories flooded back.
Raelynn quickly closed the mirror, suppressing the emotions stirring inside, and stood to wait at the dining table.
“Sir, this is Cloud Retreat, a voice called from the door.
Raelynn intentionally lowered her head. Soon, she heard steady footsteps approaching, getting closer.
“Linda”
It was Kendrick who called her name first.
Raelynn took a deep breath, her lips curving into her signature smile. She slowly lifted her head.
The moment their eyes met, Kendrick was struck with surprise. He froze, his pupils sharply contracting in shock.
