Raelynn hadn’t even had the chance to put on her clothes when a flash of spring revealed itself. Kendrick’s gaze was fixed on her pale, smooth belly–there was no scar in sight.

Each time Raelynn heard these rumors, she simply smiled, as if they didn’t bother her at all.

Kendrick floored the gas pedal, his sharp profile showing a mixture of emotions as he spoke, “I’m taking you somewhere.”
Raelynn shrugged nonchalantly. It didn’t matter where they went. The goal was always the same.
Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a familiar villa, but Raelynn suddenly found herself unwilling to get out.
Upon seeing the house she had once known so well, a surge of emotions overcame her, leaving her feet feeling shackled and immobile.
“Why aren’t you getting out?”
Kendrick moved closer, his face only an inch from hers. He gently unbuckled her seatbelt, and Raelynn could hear his breath, steady and deep.
“Of course I’ll get out. I’m just waiting for you,” she said with a playful smile, her usual fiery charm on full display.
Kendrick’s gaze darkened as his eyes moved away from her face. He stepped out of the car and walked toward the villa.
He unlocked the door and entered first, with Raelynn following behind him.
Years had passed, and now, they were back at the same place.
