This time, anyone with knowledge could easily tell that Willow Group had much more weight behind it than Oasis Group.
Kendrick didn’t respond. His nerves were taut, every muscle in his body on edge. His gaze never left the woman on the stage, and the faint light in his eyes, which had long since faded, suddenly flared back to life.
“Linda! You’re amazing! You’ve just flown into the country and already secured such a massive contract! No wonder the boss appreciates you so much!”
The employees of Oasis Group were practically beaming with joy, surrounding the victor, and praising her without end.
The woman smiled graciously, accepting all the compliments, a satisfied expression on her stunning face.
“Linda, the client team’s representative is still waiting for you over there.”
“I’ll head over right now.”
Raelynn smiled, her high heels clicking as she walked toward the man.
“Mr. Reece, thank you for your recognition and support. I’m truly grateful to be able to work with your company.”
Only when the woman’s hand extended toward him did Kendrick finally tear his eyes away from her face.
He furrowed his brow, extending his hand to shake hers.
Kendrick’s eyes fixed on the woman’s clear, beautiful eyes, and he said, “There’s a celebration tonight, Ms. Linda. We can talk more about our collaboration then.”
“Of course, Mr. Reece. I look forward to it.” Raelynn paused, her gaze turned knowing. “I hope we’ll get along well.”
Kendrick’s blood boiled once more.
Even though their faces were completely different, those eyes were just like the ones Raelynn had used to gaze at him every time they shared intimate moments.
“Then I’ll see you tonight.”
“See you tonight, Mr. Reece.”
In the evening, Kendrick’s car rolled up to the hotel where the banquet was being held. He sat in the car, reviewing the results of the afternoon’s investigation.
The data was thorough, covering Linda’s background, her upbringing, her study abroad experience, and her work history. Everything was laid out clearly.
She isn’t Raelynn.
Kendrick’s gaze dimmed for a moment, and the fire that had been burning in his chest all day seemed to be suddenly doused with a bucket of cold water, leaving a wave of disappointment in its wake.
Was it possible for two people to look so strikingly similar?
At the banquet, Kendrick was surrounded by a crowd of business associates, toasting and exchanging pleasantries. He had already drunk quite a bit.
When Linda appeared, dressed in a deep–V silver gown that revealed a large expanse of her fair skin, her delicate high heels clicking on the floor, the effect was stunning, almost mesmerizing. Kendrick’s gaze grew unfocused as she stopped in front of
him.

“Mr. Reece, thank you for giving me this opportunity. I’ll drink to your success–three glasses, for a smooth partnership.”
With that, the woman raised her glass.
Kendrick’s eyes were dark and dangerous as he stared at her. He narrowed his eyes slightly before downing his drink in one gulp.
But as the night wore on, Kendrick felt himself nearing the edge of a breakdown.
This beautiful, mysterious woman was starting to resemble Raelynn more and more! At first, it had been her aura, her gaze- but now, Kendrick was starting to notice how even her small movements mirrored Raelynn’s.
If he hadn’t personally investigated her, he would never have believed that this woman had no connection to Raelynn.
Kendrick continued to drink the wine she had offered him. His mood was already dark, and his usual high tolerance for alcohol began to fail him.
His senses became hazy, his body temperature rising. His mouth felt dry, and his gaze grew even more intense, lingering on
the woman.
Raelynn kept gazing at him with a seductive smile, her red lips alluring, her eyes shimmering with light.
“Is it you? Have you come back?” Kendrick muttered, his mind fogged, as the two faces began to merge in his mind. The alcohol had completely taken hold of him.
Without thinking further, he suddenly pulled the woman into his arms.
