A strange wave of anxiety surged from deep within him, and Kendrick couldn’t figure out the source of this unusual feeling. It was as if an inner voice was persistently telling him–this matter is not over yet!
As this thought crossed his mind, he inhaled sharply and quickly dialed Tim, “Get me a ticket to Vlebus right now, I need it immediately!”
One week later, in Vlebus.
After returning from Astua and saying his goodbyes to Raelynn, Alberto had been occupied with work. With Kendrick no longer keeping an eye on him, his trips to see Darren naturally became less frequent.
That day, as he parked his car and was about to step out of the garage, he unexpectedly ran into a man heading toward him.
Spotting Kendrick, Alberto froze for a moment, clearly taken aback. “What brings you here?”
Kendrick’s expression was dark and heavy, radiating an undeniable pressure. His voice was deep and cold, “Didn’t you go to see your precious daughter today?”
“I’ll go in the afternoon. Why?”
Alberto tried to stay composed, his face unreadable as he attempted to walk past Kendrick. But at that moment, Kendrick’s already frayed nerves broke completely, with the veins on his forehead and hand visibly pulsing!
“Alberto, your daughter with leukemia stays at home every day, and I have to ask you, what are you using to treat her?”
The words, spoken through clenched teeth, were heavy with mixed and suppressed emotions, causing Alberto to stop in his tracks.
His brows knit tighter, his face growing cold, clearly revealing that Kendrick had uncovered something.

Kendrick turned to face him, his gaze sharpening with a dangerous gleam. “Have you started running a hospital at home? Or has your daughter’s condition miraculously improved?”

Everything that had happened before was merely a fabrication, a trick Alberto had used to mislead him.
Alberto’s expression showed irritation as he frowned, snapping back, “Mr. Reece, why should I report everything to you? I didn’t realize I had such an important role, being watched by you like a criminal all the time.”
“No explanation? So, you’re just confirming it?” Kendrick asked.
“How dull, I’ve got other things to handle, Mr. Reece. Please excuse me.”
With that, Alberto took a step away.
Kendrick’s patience completely broke, and a dangerous look flashed in his eyes. His expression turned grim as he swiftly blocked Alberto’s way.
Without warning, he grabbed Alberto by the collar, his face dark with anger. Before Alberto could react, Kendrick’s fist struck his face!
He put all his force into the punch, making Alberto’s head snap to the side.

With a loud thud, Alberto hit the ground.
Kendrick, still seething with anger, bent down and yanked him up by the collar. With a forceful swing of his arm, he put everything he had into another punch.
The impact sent blood spewing from Alberto’s mouth.
“You better explain clearly. Where is the child you took from the prison two years ago? Or I’ll kill you today!”
As he moved, Alberto seemed to be in excruciating pain, his eyes wide with agony, bent over in the dirt.
After what felt like an eternity, Alberto finally gathered some strength. Staggering, he got up from the ground, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, and gritted his teeth. “Yes! You’re right! I raised Raelynn’s child for two years. I only returned the child to her when she was released from prison.”
