“Mr. Reece, I’m being honest with you. If you don’t trust me, you can find somewhere nearby to stay for a bit and see if Raelynn shows up. Anyway, it’s getting late, I should head to the nanny’s place to check on my daughter.”
He made sure to stress the word “daughter” on purpose, and when he noticed Kendrick’s gaze darken, a rush of satisfaction and revenge stirred within him.
“Alberto!”
Kendrick’s voice almost erupted in a roar, rough and menacing, “If you’ve lied to me about anything today, I’ll make sure you regret it.”
Alberto just shrugged and walked off casually.
Kendrick slumped against the wall, lit a cigarette, and took a deep drag. The smoke curled up around him, and the burning tip dropped to the floor.
He quickly dialed Tim, giving a sharp command, “From now on, send someone to follow Alberto. I want to know exactly where he goes.”
In the blink of an eye, two weeks had passed.
Kendrick had temporarily relocated to Vlebus, bringing his work with him. Just after finishing a video meeting, his assistant knocked on the door, holding a few documents.
“Come in,” he sighed, rubbing his forehead in frustration. A recent local tender had been especially difficult to navigate.
“Mr. Reece, I believe you need to see this.”
Tim handed him the papers with a serious look, observing as the man’s expression grew tense. He explained, “There are three companies vying for the land in the southern part of the city that the government is offering. This land is vital for your resort project, and with the situation back home getting chaotic, the board is urging you to return immediately.”
Tim hesitated for a moment, then added, “We’ve been tracking Alberto for the past two weeks. He’s been meeting clients and conducting business, but he also visits the nanny’s place to spend time with his daughter. Ms. Raelynn might really not be
here.
“Mr. Reece, it seems we may have made a mistake.”
Kendrick shut the document, sensing that the situation was far more critical than he had initially thought. He pinched his brow in exhaustion, thinking for a moment before saying, “Book the tickets. We’ll head back to the country this afternoon.”
Raelynn, no matter where you go, I will find you, even if it means searching the earth inch by inch!
‘Alberto, it looks like that person has gone!”
Back inside the villa, the man came in from outside, a bit excited as he headed toward the living room to share what he had seen–Kendrick moving out today.
Alberto, sitting on the couch, smiled when he heard the news. After being on edge for the last two weeks, he finally felt a serise of relief.
‘Darren, Maggie, I really appreciate everything you’ve done these past couple of weeks.”
Alberto spoke with genuine gratitude, gently patting the little girl’s head. “If it weren’t for my goddaughter’s acting skills, we wouldn’t have been able to mislead Kendrick.”
If it weren’t for the flawless teamwork among his friends, creating the illusion of visiting the nanny to spend time with the daughter after work, Kendrick wouldn’t have given up so quickly.

“Alberto, you don’t have to thank us so much. If you need anything else in the future, just let us know!”
The man narrowed his eyes, thinking carefully.

Since Kendrick had tracked down Raclynn through him, it was clear he was determined to find her now. It was vital for Alberto to meet Raelynn before anyone else did!
“Darren, Kendrick is onto me now. My actions might be limited, so I might need your help to use your contacts to track someone down.”
“Finding someone isn’t a problem. I have plenty of friends in government positions, so it should be easy.”
Alberto shook his head and replied earnestly, “This time, tracking down this person could be tougher than ever before.”
“Alberto, just let me know who you’re trying to find.”
Alberto remarked, “Her name is Raelynn Elway.”
