Chapter 5
It was unknown how long had passed, but Marve, who kept falling in the darkness, finally regained some consciousness.
Possibly due to the effect of anesthesia, she couldn’t open her eyes temporarily and could only hear some noises around her
It was a conversation between two people, and their voices were quite familiar.
“Donte, how are you going to resolve this mess you’ve caused? Maeve values her reputation more than anything else, and yet you chose to save Phoebe first. Do you want to ruin her?”
“How could I possibly want to harm Maeve? It was just a coincidence that she woke up, and if I had agreed to save her first, wouldn’t it have exposed my pretending to have amnesia? Plus, there were still a few weeks left, I just wanted to have some more fun, nothing would happen to Maeve.”
“Is it still okay? Haven’t you heard what the doctor said? If we enter the operating room even one minute later, Marve’s hand will be completely ruined. In case she wakes up and finds out the truth, there will be no possibility left between you and her.”
The person holding her hand seemed very nervous upon hearing these words, with sweat appearing on the palm of their hand.
A few minutes later, he planted a kiss on her forehead, his tone filled with certainty.
“She won’t know, but I have already made arrangements. In twenty–three days, the doctor will declare that I have regained my memory, and everything will be just like before.
Jater a long sigh, someone left the room.
Another person was still by her bedside, murmuring softly.
“Move, our wedding is coming soon. I have already ordered the wedding ring, and you will be able to see it on the day I regain my memory.”
“After we got married, shall I take you to see the aurora? Do you still remember the wish you made on our third anniversary when you wished upon a shooting star?
“When you said you wanted to be with me forever, I was really happy. I also wanted to grow old with you.”
The effect of anesthesia slowly dissipated.
I remembered who this talkative person was
He was her fiancé, Donte.
He seemed to care about her a lot, calling the doctor every half an hour to check on her condition
He would also considerately feed her water, tuck her in, and stay by her side without leaving even for a moment
Until she woke up completely

A few minutes later, the nurse came in to check her condition.
She looked at the nurse, who was carefully hiding the medical record book, and spoke with a hoarse voice.
“Who was taking care of me in the hospital these few days?”
The nurse’s eyes flickered for a few moments, and she hesitantly answered.
“I don’t know either, I’m not quite sure, but I think it was a caregiver.”
Marve felt exhausted.
She picked up her phone and glanced at the time,
On December 8th, she was unconscious for three days
The text message still only contained advertisements and notifications about phone bills.
She closed her eyes and silently prayed, hoping that the process of changing her name would be completed soon.
For a long period of time afterwards, Donte did not appear.
Phoebe, on the other hand, sent many messages every day. Chapter 5

On December 15th, Maeve went to complete the discharge procedures.
She threw away everything else and left the hospital carrying the medicine

The two people exchanged a few greetings, and Maeve was chatting happily when she was suddenly pulled away by Donte, who appeared out of nowhere.
His face was so gloomy that it could drip water, and he looked at her with a dark gaze, his voice filled with bitterness.
“Who allowed you to get so close to him?”
Maeve glanced at him and exerted some strength to pull out her wrist that had been pinched red, speaking with sarcasm.
“Didn’t you lose your memory? Don’t you deny that I am your girlfriend? I can talk to whoever I want, shouldn’t you have no right to interfere?”
After saying that, Marve didn’t care about his reaction and hailed a car to leave.
Donte, who was choked speechless, could only watch her leave.
