I felt my irritation mounting. This spectacle was giving me a migraine.
“Raymond, take your mistress and argue somewhere else!”
Victoria immediately turned her venon toward me, her eyes blazing with hatred. “Minnie! How desperate are you to seduce my man?”
I laughed coldly and fired back without mercy, “Not as desperate as you! You were sleeping with Raymond while we were still married. And you have the nerve to accuse me, his ex–wife, of seducing him?”
The onlookers snickered, looking at Victoria with disdain. Victoria’s face turned red, then pale.
Raymond, feeling humiliated, shouted angrily at Victoria, “Shut up! What garbage are you spewing?”
Victoria’s eyes flashed with indignation. She pounded Raymond’s chest while crying out, “Raymond, you heartless bastard! I’m carrying your child, and you dare yei! at me?”
The crowd’s murmurs grew louder. Someone remarked sarcastically, “Look at this guy, wanting to have his cake and eat it too.”
I could not resist adding, “So, the supposedly fatherless child is yours, after all, Raymond. It’s no wonder you were so attentive, cooking for her and even giving her money. You were afraid your bastard child might starve!”
Raymond’s face tumed ashen gray. He violently pushed Victoria away, roaring, “Enough!”
Victoria stumbled backward and fell to the ground. She clutched her stomach, her face deathly pale as large beads of sweat broke out on her forehead.
“Blood! There’s blood!” someone in the crowd exclaimed.
I looked closer and saw a bright red stain spreading beneath Victoria. It was a horrifying sight. Raymond panicked. He hastily gathered Victoria in his arms and ran toward the hospital.
