Chapter 76
“Fine.” Her eyes grew frantic. “Jane is blackmailing me. I installed the camera because she wants me to gather enough evidence to help her end her marriage to you.”
“She wants this to end, Xander. I’m doing this for you. I want you to start over. You think I enjoy listening to you talk about how amazing Jane is? I don’t want to bring a child into this messed up relationship. You might not like it but we need to rid ourselves of the ghost of your ex–wife. You know I’m doing the right thing.”
I released my grip on her and stepped back. I needed to put some distance between us. Mia wasn’t telling me the truth. There was something she was keeping from me.
If the part about Jane blackmailing her was true, then what could she possibly have on Mia that would cause her to turn on me? Still, Mia had no right to invade the security of this home, but I needed to find
answers.
My gaze shifted to Mia. She wasn’t going to tell me anything. I might as well go directly to my wife and ask her what this is all about.
After throwing one of my less attractive shirts on (since Jane had burned all of my clothes), I climbed into the BMW and started the engine. I’d barely even looked at Mia when I walked out, and I made sure not to answer any of her questions.
The entire ride was a blur. Fen was excited at the prospect of seeing

Jane again, and I just hoped she’ll at least talk to me this time.
When I arrived at the house, the large gates parted automatically. Jane had not locked me out after all. Maybe she wanted me to come back. Maybe this was her way of saying we could make things work.
But that hope shattered when I parked my car by the garage. There were three cars already parked there. Jane’s Bentley sat next to the Aston Martin I saw the last time I was here, and right next to it was a sleek black McLaren.
That was definitely a man’s car. Did Jane bring a man to our home? Fen growled angrily. I’ll kill him. I shared the same sentiment.
As soon as I climbed out of the car, Grant came rushing. “Alpha, Xander… we weren’t expecting you.”
“This is still my home.”
He cleared his throat. “Well… Luna Jane is rather occupied right now. There’s a gentleman here to see her.”
I already knew that, but it didn’t stop the burst of rage that flooded through me. “That’s exactly why I’m here. My wife has asked me here for a meeting. The three of us have a lot to talk about,” I lied. And from the way Grant was looking at me, he knew it too.
I didn’t give him a chance to try to stop me. I turned around and marched toward the house.
“Alpha Xander…”
I didn’t stop.
“Alpha Xander… wait… you…”

I can smell our mate, Fen said, drowning out Grant’s weak protests. With every bit of rage in my body, I pushed the door open and entered my house.
*Jane*
I sighed as I crossed my legs, watching Aaron work. He stood by the dresser, looking deliciously handsome in sweatpants and a simple white tee. He was fiddling with the old record player, trying to get it to work.
From my position at the edge of the bed, I could see his long fingers moving gently. I angled my head to get a better look at him. I didn’t understand why he was so obsessed with that thing. “Maybe you should give up.”
He shook his head and tried lifting up the controller. “I think I got it.” His eyebrows were drawn together in concentration as he fiddled with it once more, and then…
L is for the way you look at me…
The soft tunes of L–o–v–e by The Hit Crew filled the air. He turned to me with a surprised smile. “It works!” He crossed the room and held his hand out to me. “Come. Dance with me.”
I didn’t hesitate. I placed my hand in his, allowing him to pull me to my feet. The tiny robe I wore rode up as he twirled me around. “What are you doing?”
“I’m seducing you.” He pulled me back to him. My chest was flush against his as he began swaying side to side. “You look beautiful. You smell amazing.”
