Chapter 134
Lucky didn’t respond. Instead, she started howling in pain. She knew it was true. What should have been a leisurely day had somehow led to this nightmare.
If I’d known this would happen I wouldn’t have agreed to go out with Cathe. But Aaron had gone for his run, I was lonely, there was poor WiFi in the hotel room. So when she offered to take me on a tour through the streets of Medellin, I accepted her offer.
And the saddest part was I did have fun. We explored the bustling markets, stopping to gaze at the impressive art scenes and massive murals. We’d done so much that by the time we reached my feet ached terribly. And that was the beginning of my misfortune.
Because that ache propelled me to make the decision to remain in Cathe’s car while her, Bonnie and Diana finished up. I had no idea that someone had been watching me, much less an old lady with a gun.
One moment I was checking my phone, hoping for a message from Aaron, and the next, the passenger door was yanked open and the weapon was pressed against my ribs. The woman hadn’t said a word. She just dragged me out.
Lucky had growled protectively, but with how close the gun was to my side, I knew better than to fight back.
Before I could even process what was happening, she’d shoved into the Corolla where the nervous young man was already waiting, engine running. The whole thing had taken less than thirty seconds, and now here I was.

I did try to tell them they got the wrong person. For the life of me I couldn’t think of one person that would want to hurt me in London. It didn’t make any sense.
But she’d just smiled that unsettling smile and pressed the gun closer.
The car jerked to the right, pulling me out of my thoughts. My heart raced when I looked up and saw we were pulling into a driveway. The house ahead of us looked like an ordinary two–story. However my heart didn’t stop beating as we neared the modest building.
There was something deeply unsettling about this place. Something that made even Lucky cower in fear especially when I noticed a wooden chair at the center of the garage up ahead.
The car stopped only inches away from the chair. Then I felt the cold metal nudge my shoulder. She raised the gun and gestured.
I climbed out slowly, taking in my surroundings. I was desperately searching for anything I could use as a weapon to bash someone against the head. There were garden tools hanging from pegboards, but they were all just out of reach.
The woman grabbed my shoulder and pushed me onto the chair.
I lowered myself, still looking around. But then, I noticed a figure emerging from the shadows.
It was a man in his twenties, tall and lean with brown hair that fell across his forehead. He moved casually, as if he didn’t feel the tension
in the air.
The man stopped in front of me. “I’m Ryan,” he said, extending his hand like we were in a business meeting. “Sorry about the dramatic entrance.”
