He didn’t give me a chance to doubt it. His free hand moved to cup the back of my neck, and then his lips met mine.
I groaned into the kiss, loving the way it deepened in an instant. He tasted like mint and cherries, two of the things I loved the most. When he finally broke apart, both of us breathing hard, I could feel something poking my stomach.
“We should go, before I decide to keep you here all night,” he murmured against my ear.
I giggled. I wouldn’t mind that. But I nodded and followed him into the car, thinking about all the things we couldn’t do as he drove us to the club.
When we arrived, Aaron guided me through the crowd with a protective hand on my back. “The VIP section’s upstairs. Aiden’s already here with Kol and Frank.”
He led me to a much more spacious area than the main club. I noticed three men seated at a large table filled with drinks. I recognized Aiden, his blue eyes lighting up when he saw us. Two unfamiliar men sat with him, probably Kol and Frank.
“Jane.” One of the men stood up, heading toward us. He was tall, about Aaron’s height, but with a smaller build. He had short hair that looked more white than blond. “You look radiant.” He suddenly stepped forward and pulled me into a warm hug, and then I felt his lips brush against my cheek.

“Kol,” Aaron yelled, hand shooting out to grab his shoulder. “That’s enough.”
Kol raised his hands in mock surrender. But before he could speak, the club’s music suddenly stopped. A bright spotlight moved toward our VIP section, practically blinding us.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we have a very special celebration here tonight!” I heard the DJ say over the sound system. “Let’s hear it for Jane, who’s officially divorced and finally free!”
I felt my face flush with embarrassment as many faces turned toward
- me.
“Congratulations, Jane!” Someone shouted, and then the crowd began to cheer.
I couldn’t help but smile. Somehow, this was exactly what I needed. And now, the only thing left was to tell Aaron the news.

The spotlight quickly faded out, and everyone went back to dancing the night away. We settled into our seats, with Aaron by my side, and the four men soon fell into familiar banter. It was nice to see, nicer that they didn’t leave me out of it, sharing embarrassing stories about
Aaron.
“Jane, you’re staring again,” Aaron murmured into my ear.
“You can’t blame me, this is quite a sight to behold.”
“Yeah,” Aiden piped up, beaming at his friends. “These rascals are really something.”

Kol snorted, looking up from his drink. “Don’t listen to Aiden. I’m the life of this party. I’m the only one who’s really something.”
“You say that like it’s a high bar to climb,” Frank countered.
Kol’s head snapped toward Frank. “That’s because it is. You wouldn’t understand because you’re such a bore.”
They started bickering after that, each one bringing up points as to why they were the standout guy of the group.
Aiden shook his head and laughed. “They’re always like this. Kol can never let things go.”
“I heard that!” Kol exclaimed. Then he turned his gaze to me. “Why don’t you settle this, Jane? Who is the liveliest of the group?”
I could practically hear Aaron’s lips lift in his signature grin. “Yeah, Jane. Why don’t you settle this?”
My mouth opened and closed as the four men turned to me, waiting for my verdict. But I knew better than to take sides. Each man served different purposes. Aaron…he was mine. Aiden appeared to take on more of a fatherly role, Frank bickered like a slighted middle child, and Kol was obviously the liveliest.
But I couldn’t tell them that.
So, I raised my hands in mock surrender. “I think everyone here has their own charm.”
“Cop out!” Kol yelled.
“Hey,” Aaron interjected, making a show of pulling me to his chest. “Leave my girlfriend alone.”

The men took this as their cue to start digging at Aaron, and I couldn’t help but laugh at every joke they made. It was obvious why they were such good friends. They bounced off each other’s energies and always made people feel welcome.
Frank suddenly stopped speaking and looked at me as I took another sip of my virgin mojito. “Do you have something against alcohol, Jane?”
