Chapter 7 My Surname Is Yersley
Noelle’s expression turned cold as she spoke. “My surname is Yersley. I won’t bring shame to the Sandback family.”
After she said that, Kingston’s anger intensified, and even Phoebe’s face darkened with displeasure.
“Noelle, what have you been learning these years out there? Do you not even understand the most basic manners?”
Even Ryder chimed in, “Elle, he’s your granddad.”
He was hinting for Noelle to soften her stance and not provoke Kingston further.
Zayla quickly added fuel to the fire. “Mom, Dad, don’t be mad. This child has a stubborn temper. She probably takes after her father. She’ll change eventually with proper guidance.”
Kingston calmed down, his sharp gaze fixed on Noelle.
“You’ll be staying here from now on. I’ll find you a tutor. You can leave when you’ve learned properly.”
It was a clear attempt to confine Noelle within the Sandback residence.
Noelle found their discussion amusing and stood up.
“Looks like dinner is off the table. I’ve visited you both on behalf of my mother, so I’ll be leaving now.”
The anger that had just subsided in Kingston was instantly reignited. He clutched his chest as if the anger was physically affecting him.
Jacinda quickly stepped forward, grabbing Noelle’s hand.
She said softly, “Elle, just say something to appease him, and this will be over. This is your home. Where else would you go?“.
Knowing Phoebe had always looked down on Noelle’s father, Zayla muttered under her breath, “Like father, like daughter.”
Noelle halted in her tracks and turned to Zayla, fixing her with an icy stare. Zayla felt a chill down her spine but forced herself to speak. “Why are you looking at me like that? What, are you planning to hit your aunt?”
Noelle let out a cold laugh.
“Of course not. You’re still an elder, after all.”
Then, without warning, she delivered a loud slap–right across Yuliana’s face. The room fell into stunned silence.
Yuliana, completely caught off guard, sat frozen for a moment before realizing what had happened. Rage consumed her.
Screeching, she lunged at Noelle, attempting to retaliate, but Noelle simply lifted her leg and kicked her away with ease. Years of being forced into rigorous training had paid off.
She might not be able to take on military personnel, but handling someone like Yuliana was effortless. Yuliana was sent flying across the room.
Noelle then slowly turned her gaze back to Zayla, her voice dangerously calm.
“Dear Aunt Zayla, do you know how to speak properly now? If I hear you talk about my father like that again, I won’t be so gentle next time.”
Zayla finally snapped back to reality. Letting out a wail, she and Yelena rushed to help Yuliana. The three of them clung to each other, crying pitifully.
“Mom, Dad, I don’t think I’ll dare to come home anymore. Take care of yourselves.”
Carson, watching from the sidelines, muttered, “You started it first.” Nixon smacked him on the head to shut him up.
He stared at Noelle excitedly. She’s so cool.

“A disgrace. What a disgrace to the family!”
Trembling. Kingston pointed at Noelle.
“Get out! The Sandback family has no-”
“Dad!”
Before Kingston could finish, Ryder cut in. “Calm down first.”
He turned to Noelle, about to speak, but she shrugged.

“If you’re planning to lecture me, Uncle Ryder, don’t bother. And Old Mr. Sandback, rest assured. I never intended to be part of the Sandback family. Your reputation won’t be tarnished by me.”
Hearing Noelle’s words, Ryder frowned.
“Elle, what nonsense is this? You’re Zoey’s daughter and my niece. How are you not part of the family?”
Kingston snapped, “Let her go! Once she steps out of this house, she’s never coming back!”
Noelle had no interest in watching this farce any longer. She turned and walked out.
Carson, who had been enjoying the drama, suddenly jumped up. “Wait up, Elle! I’ll take you!”
He chased after her. Nixon and Jason exchanged glances before also getting up. They made up an excuse about work and left.
The remaining people in the room looked at each other, speechless. Ryder rubbed his forehead. What a mess.
Noelle and Carson got into the car, but before they could leave, Nixon and Jason caught up.
“Hold up. We’re coming too.”
Their family had come in two cars, and given what had just happened, their parents wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon.
Carson protested, “Get the driver to take you! I want to bond with Elle.”
Jason gave him a mild but terrifying smile.
In the end, all four of them left the Sandback residence together, Noelle asked Carson to drop her off at Jamore University.
“Going to meet someone?” Carson asked.
Fiddling with her phone, Noelle casually replied, “I’m enrolling there.”
She had no idea how shocking her words were.
Silence fell. Carson parted his lips several times but hesitated. Knowing what he wanted to ask, Noelle added, “I got in through connections.”
Her words were nothing short of shocking. Even Jason, who was usually composed, raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Nixon and Jason exchanged looks. This was the prestigious Jamore University. Even with the Sandback family’s influence, getting in through connections was no easy feat.
Nixon asked, “What major did you choose?”
Frowning, Noelle told him, “I haven’t decided yet.”
The three brothers were speechless. You can choose your major after getting in? What kind of connection was this?
When they arrived at the university entrance, Jason offered, “Need me to go with you? I graduated from here. I can show you
around.”
Carson eagerly nodded. He wanted to tag along, too.

Noelle spotted someone.
“No need. Someone’s here to pick me up.”

Before stepping out of the car, she casually mentioned, “The gifts you brought for me are still at the Sandback residence. Do whatever you want with them.”
With that, she got out and walked toward a car parked near the entrance.
She exchanged a few words with the person standing beside it before getting into the car, which then drove into the university.
Back in their car, Carson scratched his head. “It seems that Elle is quite capable.”
Jason glanced at him. “She’s no ordinary person. You know whose car she just got into?”
Carson joked, “What, the university president’s?”
Then he saw his brother’s expression. Huh?
“Wait, I got it right?”
The three of them fell silent. Carson’s admiration skyrocketed.
“D*mn. Elle’s good. She didn’t just use a connection–she went straight to the top.”
Jason and Nixon glanced at their foolish sibling quietly. It wasn’t just about using the president’s connection to get enrolled in Jamore University. Unlike Carson, they knew more about the world of power and influence.
The university president wasn’t just a university president. He was someone from the central government, a man of significant authority.
Would he just allow anyone to enter the university using his connections?
Noelle was far from simple.
Jason made a call back to the Sandback residence, instructing them to keep Noelle’s gifts.
After the call ended, his expression turned cold. Had he not called, Kingston had been about to redistribute them to Yuliana and Yelena.
Carson scoffed. “Petty. Trying to take everything for themselves. Yuliana’s also studying at Jamore University. She’s definitely going to cause trouble for Elle.”
Jason chuckled. “Do you think Noelle would be at a disadvantage?”
That girl wasn’t the type to take things lying down, otherwise she wouldn’t have made a point to remind him earlier. Even if she refused what was given to her, she wouldn’t let those who offended her benefit from it.
If the Daines family knew what was good for them, they’d stop causing trouble for Noelle. Otherwise, who knew what would happen to them?
