However, if they had failed to capture Lilah, it would be the nation that suffered.

The plane landed smoothly on the tarmac, and Noelle watched Ryleigh, who had changed his demeanor as soon as he alighted from the aircraft. Unlike his relaxed persona in Radiuria, he now exuded an air of aloofness.
“Mr. Wheelock, you’re quite the actor, aren’t you?”
His expression had changed so rapidly.
Upon hearing the words, Ryleigh didn’t show any signs of anger. Instead, he shot Noelle a pointed look.
“Who doesn’t have two faces?”
With a click of her tongue, Noelle bid farewell to Ryleigh.
With Lilah by her side, they got into the car that had come to pick them up. Before boarding the plane, she had already made contact. At this moment, the National Security Agency’s conference room was filled with many people, all waiting for Noelle’s
return.
Dealing with such matters was typically the responsibility of the National Security Agency. However, due to the involvement of high–ranking military officials in this case, several commanders from the military district were also present.
When they received the news from Noelle, the Daines and Zimmers families were swiftly apprehended. Now, they were simply waiting for Lilah to be escorted back to the country for further action.
Noelle went to the conference room to give a report, and the bigwigs were very pleased with her performance.
Griffin couldn’t help but admire Noelle’s courage.
At the end, Noelle added, “Lilah is now mentally falling apart, so the odds of her confessing are now highly likely.”
Of course, she didn’t mention that she was the one who scared the woman witless.
After Noelle finished speaking, she was ready to leave, but an exasperated Carlos stopped her.
“Wait until the verdict is out before you leave.”
If any significant details were to be unearthed, the sheer magnitude of Noelle’s achievement would be astounding. Plenty of people would be green with envy over this military achievement.
“You just got off the plane, didn’t you? Don’t fuss around; sit down and take a rest first.”
a
Nigel Hans, Zeke’s grandfather, rubbed his forehead as he observed Noelle’s nonchalant demeanor.
This young lady is far too carefree, so we old fellows have to make sure to look out for her.
An old man across the room scoffed. Giving all the credit to this young girl, aren’t they afraid it’ll be too much for her to handle?
The old man was Anthony Packman, a seasoned revolutionary.
Carlos had no children of his own, so it was understandable that he was so protective of her.
But what about Nigel? Both their families had younger generations who were in the military, and they had both performed exceptionally well.
As long as they shared the credit equally, being promoted wasn’t an issue.
There would be no loss to Noelle, whose status was already high enough. She didn’t need this bit of merit.
Originally intending to leave, Noelle halted at the sound of that cold snort. She understood the thoughts running through Anthony’s mind.
She wasn’t one to fuss, but she also didn’t want to be treated like a fool. Noelle simply sat down, showing no signs of leaving.

Noelle was bored out of her mind, watching the interrogation room’s surveillance video alongside a few old men, all of them waiting for the results of the questioning.
Cell phones were useless here, as all signals were completely blocked to prevent anyone from leaking information.
The results of the interrogation were in–the Zimmers family was innocent. Noelle was not surprised by this outcome. When she was interrogating the trio in Radiuria, she had already discovered that the one they contacted was the Daines family.
Ethan was a man of caution and prudence. He would accept small favors and kindness, but he would never involve himself with large sums of money.
Under these circumstances, the Zimmers family relied heavily on the Daines family as their primary source of income to maintain their high–quality lifestyle.
Due to Ethan’s cautious nature, the Daines family didn’t gain any advantages from their association with the Zimmers family Instead, they only found themselves investing more into it.
Even so, they didn’t dare to offend the Zimmers family. After all, despite the latter’s inability to lend a hand, it was still quite easy for them to cause trouble. Which business didn’t have its own vulnerabilities?
The Upresians had precisely identified this advantage when they approached the Daines family. They expressed that all they needed was for Lilah to retrieve something from Ethan for them. In return, they would assist the Daines family in expanding their business in Upresia.
The Daines family inevitably felt tempted and persuaded Lilah to take action.
On one hand, they wanted to use this situation to corner Ethan. After all, the information had originated from Ethan. Regardless of who stole it, Ethan couldn’t escape responsibility.
On the other hand, the offer presented by the other party was too tempting to resist. Even if they were discovered, they could easily flee the country and start anew in Upresia.
Unfortunately, their grand plans and ambitions were thwarted before they even had a chance to implement them. They were caught first.
Everyone felt a mix of emotions toward Ethan at that moment. Even if he was innocent, his career had come to a standstill.
He was well aware of his own family’s affairs. The Daines family essentially footed the bill for his entire family’s expenses. Trying to disentangle themselves from the situation wasn’t easy now that this had happened.
It was just a shame about Cameron. He would probably have to step down early.
Luckily, he still had a second son whose progress was quite commendable. Before stepping down, he should be able to give him a helping hand. (
Once the interrogation was over, Cameron also arrived. To avoid any suspicion, he had remained in the next room until the results were out.
Observing their old comrade, who seemed to have aged ten years overnight, the group of old men sighed deeply, at a loss for what to say in that moment.
The consequences of lax home management were evident. The state of Ethan’s financial situation was something Cameron was surely aware of, yet he chose not to intervene. This led to an irreversible predicament.
Cameron could only laugh bitterly.
