Chapter 22 Strictly Confidential
Dominic was also a graduate of the prestigious Jamore University. His name remained hung on the university’s Wall of Honor, serving as a source of inspiration for many striving students at the university.
“It was indeed a tough time. There were also a lot of mosquitoes over there. Ms. Yersley, you need to make sure you’re fully prepared,” Zeke also cautioned, stating he had visited that military base numerous times in the past, and the conditions were indeed far from ideal.
“I’m not participating,” Noelle declared.
Upon hearing that, everyone was somewhat surprised.
In the regulations of Jamore University, it was stipulated that in order to train the physical endurance and willpower of students, as well as for the integration of new students, measures were taken to ensure everyone could quickly become part of the collective.
Hence, unless physical conditions didn’t permit, participation in orientation was required.
As one of the top–tier institutions, the freshman orientation at Jamore University was not only a focus of the school, but the roster was also reported directly to the military district where the training took place. No one dared to falsify anything in this
matter.
Generally speaking, regardless of their status, even the children of the privileged elite would participate in orientation, even if it was just for the sake of their reputation.
Take Dominic, for example. He was a bona fide hedonist, yet he still bit the bullet and participated.
Judging by Matthew’s expression, it was clear that he was also unaware of this matter.
That certainly piqued their curiosity. Where did Noelle get such privilege from?
They didn’t shun such behavior, nor did they self–righteously criticize those who chose to be different.
After all, they were often the direct beneficiaries of privilege. They would use it if they had it.
“Could Ms. Yersley perhaps clear up our confusion?” Joseph displayed an eager thirst for knowledge.
Matthew furrowed his brow, his expression slightly displeased. Just as he was about to speak, he was stopped by Noelle who was beside him.
Noelle looked straight at Joseph.
“You still don’t get it? Obviously, it’s by taking the backdoor route.”
When Joseph was exposed by Dominic, he no longer pretended to be the perfect gentleman who knew when to advance and
retreat.
“I’d love to hear more about it.”
Noelle gave a somewhat wicked smile. “It’s through your uncle’s connections.”
As soon as those words were spoken, shockwaves were sent through the room. Joseph’s uncle, Francis, was the president of the prestigious Jamore University at that time.
They had some understanding of that old scholar as well, who was stubbornly honest
Especially for Dominic, the memories were particularly poignant. During his years studying at the prestigious Jamore University, he found himself frequently outmaneuvered and tricked. Moreover, Francis was always complaining about Dominic to his father, causing him to face numerous reprimands.
“If you’re curious, go back and ask your uncle.”
Dominic stepped in to defend Noelle. After all, he considered her his half–sister from different parents.
Indeed, he had started treating Noelle that way.

Though his curiosity was eating him alive, he knew he had to present a united front with Noelle then.
Joseph was speechless.

Mocked one after the other by these two, his pride had taken a hit. However, it didn’t matter. There were no outsiders present anyway. Joseph’s mindset, surprisingly, was quite positive.
Moreover, he was genuinely curious about how Noelle managed to persuade Francis. There was no need for Noelle to deceive them about this matter.
This time, they didn’t have the slightest doubt that Matthew wasn’t the one who pulled strings for her. After all, considering that old man’s character, he was unlikely to bow down to Matthew.
Even if Joseph, his own nephew, were to go, he’d probably get kicked out.
They didn’t know how Noelle had done it. Seeing that she had no intention of elaborating further, it didn’t seem appropriate to press for more details.
Matthew didn’t want their attention to linger on her because Noelle had nearly finished eating. Hence, he set down his fork Jand added some water to her glass.
The topic was changed afterward.
“Ryleigh, have you found the person yet?”
Ryleigh shook his head. He had been dealing with that matter for the past few days.
Beneath that clubhouse was a base station, linked to his main camp in Radiuria. Normally, all signals were blocked and only activated during transactions.
The base station was covertly situated underground. Three days ago, during a communication attempt with the outside world, their message was intercepted. Since then, there had been continuous attempts to breach their network.
He was also counterattacking, attempting to locate the adversary’s address. At the moment, both sides were in a standoff. The matter was of utmost importance and related to arms dealing.
Most of his people weren’t there, and he couldn’t risk bringing in outsiders to handle things. If push came to shove, he would simply have to abandon that place.
He had poured a great deal of effort into that place, so it would truly be a shame to see it all go to waste.
Moreover, reconstruction wasn’t something that could be accomplished overnight. It was hard to tell how many matters would be delayed in the process.
Ryleigh’s expression turned somewhat solemn. That person ought to not let me catch him. Otherwise, I’ll definitely make that person regret ever being born into this world.
At that moment, Dominic was looking at Noelle somewhat hesitantly, hoping that Noelle could possibly help him.
With a warning glance, Matthew cautioned him not to speak recklessly. He knew of Noelle’s capabilities, yet he didn’t want Noelle to interfere.
It wasn’t that he didn’t care about his buddy. The situation with Ryleigh was too risky. He didn’t want Noelle to get involved.
Noelle wasn’t the type to meddle in others‘ affairs, but since she met Dominic, he had always been protective of her. Seeing him in that state and considering Ryleigh’s status, she had a few guesses.
Furthermore, Ryleigh and Matthew were close friends. Her identity was being kept strictly confidential temporarily. Once things settled down, those who needed to know would eventually find out.
