Following closely behind Noelle, an infuriated Yuliana stormed out, shouting loudly, “Noelle, hold it right there!”
Noelle turned a deaf ear. She had already purchased what she wanted and couldn’t be bothered to engage in a drawn–out argument with her.
Seeing that Noelle was ignoring her, Yuliana grew even angrier. However, she knew that was the Sholl family’s territory, and despite her anger, she knew she couldn’t cause a scene there.
The Sholl family wasn’t one to give her any respect. If she were to be thrown out, it would be a major blow to her reputation. Yet, she couldn’t bear to watch Noelle leave like that. Therefore, she had no choice but to quickly step forward, blocking Noelle’s path.
“Come over here with me.”
Yuliana reached out, intending to pull Noelle aside to a quiet corner.
Noelle stepped aside quickly, preventing Yuliana from pulling her away.
Noelle then walked over and sat down at a table set outside the nearby café. She certainly didn’t want to be treated like a spectacle.
It seemed that Yuliana wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and Noelle couldn’t exactly start a fight with her in the middle of a crowded place.
It seemed that Yuliana had noticed this, which was why she had the audacity to pester her.
Yuliana dismissed her two followers, then walked over and sat opposite Noelle, letting out a cold huff.
“Is this how you treat your cousin?”
Ryder had told Yuliana to get along well with Noelle and take good care of her. However, that was the last thing she wanted to do.
“Ms. Daines, you seem to have a poor memory,” Noelle said. Didn’t she say I had no connection with the Sandback family?
“You!”
Yuliana was about to slam the table and lose her temper again. However, she happened to see someone walking out of the café.
“Just wait for me,” Yuliana said in a hushed tone, seemingly gathering courage, before approaching a man and a woman who
A had just exited the café.
Noelle didn’t leave. She was curious to see what kind of game Yuliana was playing,
That was just how Yuliana was, not harmful but certainly annoying. Noelle didn’t want to be constantly bothered by her.
“Maisie, what a coincidence! You’re here as well!”
That sweet, crisp voice was a stark contrast to the one from earlier. Noelle was left in awe at how great Yuliana was at acting.
The woman gave a nod, her demeanor exuding a certain arrogance. Yuliana leaned in toward her, whispering a few words into her ear. The woman then glanced in Noelle’s direction a few times.
That woman then followed Yuliana. At the same time, a seemingly carefree man also came along by her side.
The three of them promptly took their seats. The man’s gaze held a hint of frivolity the moment he saw Noelle.
Noelle frowned and really wanted to gouge out his eyes.
“Noelle, let me introduce you. This is my sister, Maisie Zimmers,” Yuliana said.
Maisie Zimmers? She’s the granddaughter of Cameron, a commander in the military district. How could Yuliana know her? Noelle had a thoughtful expression.

“Did your mother get cheated on?” Noelle asked. That introduction was indeed too intimate… How could Maisie be Yuliana’s sister? Didn’t Yuliana’s mother only give birth to her and Yelena? If she were to have another older sister, it would mean that her father had another child with another woman.
“Y–You’re so crude! My family and Maisie’s maternal grandfather are related.”
Yuliana’s face had nearly turned purple with rage.
The man couldn’t help but laugh outright, finding Noelle rather intriguing.
Maisie wore a look of displeasure. No wonder Yuliana has a hard time dealing with this lady. She has such a sharp tongue.
“Ms. Yersley, one must always be cautious with their words and actions. You can’t afford to offend everyone,” Maisie said.
“Hey, Maisie. Why are you scaring the young lady like that?” the man uttered, his voice laced with mirth.
Maisie shot him a cold glare, scoffing lightly. Does he think I didn’t see the way he was looking at Noelle earlier?
Unfazed by the cold glare he received, the man continued to wear a playful, cheerful smile.
“Ms. Zimmers, when you have a moment, could you teach your younger sister the meaning of the words you just said?” Noelle’s expression remained unchanged, completely unfazed by her threats.
Upon hearing Noelle’s words, Maisie was immediately reminded of what Noelle had said earlier about Yuliana’s mother being cheated on, which left her feeling utterly humiliated.
“Ms. Yersley, are you disrespecting me now?”
Maisie was backed by the Zimmers family, and everyone around her always treated her with reverence. Never before had anyone dared to disrespect her like that.
Upon noticing the unpleasant expression on Maisie’s face, Yuliana, fearing she might end up bearing the brunt of her anger, hastily said, “Maisie, my cousin has just arrived in Jamore. She’s quite naive.”
After that, Yuliana feigned helplessness and added, “Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gotten kicked out by my grandparents.”
Maisie’s expression softened a bit. She found herself somewhat amused upon reflection. She’s the Sandback family’s poor relative who has just arrived in Jamore. In terms of social standing, she’s a nobody. If I were to stoop to her level by arguing with her, I would only bring shame to myself.
She then casually handed Yuliana a bag adorned with the logo of a certain luxury jewelry brand. “I just bought this. You can have it.”
“Thanks, Maisie. This must be quite expensive, right?”
With a sense of surprise and delight, Yuliana accepted the item handed to her. Upon opening it, she found it was a bracelet.
That brand was incredibly expensive. She would usually just look at it. The surprise came too abruptly.
A flash of disdain passed through Maisie’s eyes when she saw Yuliana’s ecstatic expression. “It’s not too bad, less than a million.”
Maisie casually said those words casually, thinking that it was about time to give that country bumpkin across from her a reality check to show her that there were indeed disparities between people.
Noelle watched her as if she was watching a play. Apparently, Yuliana hadn’t informed Maisie about the value of the cufflinks Noelle had purchased. Otherwise, Maisie wouldn’t be thinking of humiliating her with that bracelet.
It seemed that Yuliana was rather clever after all, successfully tricking someone out of a bracelet worth a million.
Maisie then rose to her feet. She simply didn’t have the time to waste with them there.
If it hadn’t been for Yuliana’s ability to somewhat please her, she wouldn’t have bothered to lower herself to go there. Yet, all she got for her trouble was disappointment.
“Ms. Yersley, allow me to offer you a piece of advice. Jamore isn’t like other places. It’s not good to be too arrogant.”

Maisie dropped a remark, pulling away the man who seemed to have more to say.
Noelle watched Maisie’s retreating figure and responded in a way that held hidden meanings.
“I’d also like to give you the same advice, Ms. Zimmers.”
Maisie paused for a moment, but she didn’t look back as she walked away.

Thinking she was taking pleasure in another’s misfortune, Yuliana said, “If you offend Maisie, you won’t have any good days ahead. Don’t count on the Sandback family to help you. They won’t risk offending the Zimmers family for your sake.”
“Oh? Is the Zimmers family wealthy?”
Pointing upward, Yuliana joyfully said to Noelle, “The Zimmers family isn’t exactly rolling in wealth, but they’re high society. They aren’t the kind of people we can afford to offend.”
Yuliana was eager to see Noelle’s startled expression.
“If she isn’t rich, why did she give you an expensive gift?” Noelle wore an expression of curiosity.
“Her maternal family is wealthy, and they don’t mind splurging on her. I can’t fathom their thinking.”
Yuliana curled her lip, her tone a peculiar mix of sarcasm and envy. They certainly don’t act as petty as the Sandback family, guarding their granddaughters as if they were guarding against thieves.
It seemed that Yuliana couldn’t coax any information out of this situation. Given her demeanor, it was clear she was also clueless about the rest.
“Aren’t you going to thank me?” Noelle subtly indicated toward the bracelet on Yuliana’s hand. If it weren’t for her, Maisie would never have gifted Yuliana such a valuable item.
Yuliana was taken aback. Having received the bracelet that day, she couldn’t be bothered to squabble with Noelle.
Picking up her bag, she left straight away to show off to her close girlfriends.
Noelle sat there deep in thought after sending Yuliana away, her fingers lightly tapping on the desk. Does the Zimmers family have any idea that Maisie is spending money like water when she is out and about? If they aren’t aware, it’s logical for me to let Cameron know about it, right? If they knew, then things would be interesting.
