Chapter 13 Ambiguity At The Stable
The fact that they could jointly develop a resort clearly indicated the nature of their relationship.
The dynamics within this small group of people were rather intricate, encompassing various layers of complexity. It was unclear whether this was intentional or merely a coincidence.
Those men were also sizing her up at the same time, finding her to be strikingly beautiful yet aloof.
Beyond that, there didn’t seem to be anything else noteworthy. How has she managed to ensnare Matthew, making it seem as if he’s bewitched?
However, they merely harbored such thoughts. After all, this was Matthew’s personal matter. Their curiosity simply wished for a glimpse, and having their curiosity satisfied was enough for them.
Matthew introduced them to each other before they all settled down to eat.
Watching Matthew prepare the meal for Noelle, from peeling shrimp to picking out fish bones, he was just short of feeding Noelle directly.
Seeing Noelle accept it so naturally, it seemed like he had done that often in the past.
A few people exchanged glances, their expressions complicated. Discussing Matthew’s love life was indeed a topic too intricate to be encapsulated in mere words.
Matthew knew Noelle’s tastes very well, and he always picked out the things she liked.
Engrossed in her meal, Noelle couldn’t be bothered with anything else. At that moment, she had only one thought. This is simply too delicious.
The resort had specifically designated an area for raising edible domestic poultry and game. Adjacent to the restaurant, there was a large pond available for fishing.
If one was in the mood, they could catch and eat on the spot, emphasizing the freshness.
After sharing a meal together, Noelle had gained a more concrete understanding of the others. –
Zeke was straightforward and often sharp–tongued, frequently leaving people speechless with his cutting remarks.
Ryleigh was aloof and frosty, the type who spoke little, but when he did speak, his words were sharp and cutting. This perfectly showed his image as the leader of the underworld arms trade.
Joseph was the epitome of politeness and restraint, a man who could navigate any situation with ease. Yet, beneath his mild- mannered facade, one could only wonder what truly lay.
Noelle didn’t bother delving into the other matters. They were none of her concern. They bore her no ill will, so knowing just that much about them was enough for her.
After having a full meal, Noelle settled herself on the small balcony at the other end of the private room, basking in the mountain breeze. Her entire being relaxed, acknowledging that, indeed, a day like that was quite pleasant.
The individuals inside gradually emerged, each taking a seat without uttering another word, basking in the rare tranquility.
“Do you want to go out for a stroll, Elle?”
Dominic popped out again.
“I’ll show you around. This is my pride and joy. Haha! I guarantee you’ll be satisfied.”
Matthew’s expression darkened as he fixed his gaze on Dominic.
Only later did Dominic realize that Matthew wanted to stroll alone with Noelle.
He was just about to force a laugh and make an excuse when Joseph, with a smile, cut him off, saying, “Since it’s our first time here, let’s explore together.”

Normally, Matthew was a man of steady emotions, his face forever as calm as a still breeze.

It was rare to see such an array of emotions on his face. That day was truly an eye–opener for them. They simply had to keep up and observe.
Noelle didn’t really mind as she made her assessments of those people over the course of the meal.
She could sense that these people bore her no ill will. They weren’t going to harm her.
She was certain of that much, and anything beyond it, she couldn’t care less to bother with.
Consequently, the intimate world for two that Matthew had originally planned transformed into a space for six.
In the car. Noelle was leaning on the window, gazing outside. Matthew, on the other hand, wore a stern expression as he glanced toward the few people at the back who seemed to be enjoying some sort of show. With a look, he signaled them to back off.
Suddenly, Zeke asked, “How do you find this place, Ms. Yersley?”
Upon hearing the words, Noelle turned around, only to see Matthew’s face transform in an instant. The people behind him were left in awe at the sight. It was as if Oscar owed him a little golden statue.
“The view is pleasant, and the food is delicious.”
Noelle honestly shared her thoughts.
Dominic was invigorated. “I told you it’s not bad, right? We’re almost at the stable. Want to go have some fun?”
“I don’t know how to ride a horse.”
Noelle truly didn’t know how to ride a horse. She could drive all sorts of vehicles, even capable of piloting a helicopter, but she had never really had any experience with horses.
Dominic became even more enthusiastic. “Matthew knows how. Let him teach you.”
One could say that Dominic was trying to make it up to Matthew by providing him with such a golden opportunity.
The scene of the two of them riding a horse, holding hands, and embracing each other affectionately appeared in Dominic’s mind.
Unconsciously, Dominic let out a chuckle, his face gradually taking on a peculiar expression.
Beside him, Zeke swiftly slapped Dominic’s face, effectively hiding his lewd expression.
Joseph then uttered gently, “I’m sorry, Ms. Yersley. He isn’t right in the head.”
Just as Dominic was about to shrug off Zeke’s hand and retort, he was swiftly silenced by several others.
Noelle watched them carry on, noticing that these individuals seemed to share a genuinely good bond.
The car had conveniently stopped right in front of the stable. Matthew was watching Noelle, who was clearly eager to give it a
try.
“Don’t mind them. shall I teach you how to ride a horse?”
Noelle nodded, taking the lead to get out of the car with Matthew. A slow smile spread across Matthew’s face when he saw how Noelle held onto his sleeve.
The people behind simply couldn’t bear to watch any longer. Even Ryleigh, who was usually a man of few words, couldn’t help but say. “All she did was pull on his sleeve, yet he smiled so-”
Zeke interrupted with precision. “Brightly.”
After they got out of the car, this time, they were tactful enough not to be a third wheel and knew when to stop.
If they continued on that path, Matthew was bound to lose his temper with them. This man, sly and vindictive as he was.

would surely retaliate if they truly upset him. They had no idea what kind of revenge he might have in store for them.
Those few people were about to engage in a horse race. After exchanging some words, they went to change into their riding
gear.
Noelle asked Matthew, “Aren’t we supposed to change our clothes?“.
Matthew chuckled lightly. “No rush. We can take our time.”
The final sentence seemed to be talking about horse riding, yet it also hinted at something else.
Matthew hadn’t actually planned to teach Noelle how to ride a horse. If she really learned, he wouldn’t be able to use it as an excuse anymore in the future.
As per Matthew’s request, the staff at the stable led a rather gentle horse over.
Matthew helped Noelle onto the horse, then he swiftly mounted, settling in behind Noelle.
The two of them were extremely close on horseback, so much so that Noelle could almost feel Matthew’s heartbeat behind her. Feeling slightly uncomfortable, she leaned forward a bit.
Suddenly, she felt a tightening around her waist. Matthew’s hand had circled her waist, pulling her backward, and their bodies were pressed together completely.
“Elle, sit still. Don’t sway,” Matthew whispered gently into Noelle’s ear, his gaze fixed on the gradually reddening tip of her ear. His eyes were fervent, filled with a compelling urge to take a playful bite.
The warm breath cascaded onto the side of Noelle’s neck, causing a shudder to run through her. She was suddenly starting to regret her decision to come. Is it really necessary to be this close while horseback riding?
Matthew nudged the horse into a slow trot. One hand was holding the reins while the other, which was draped casually around Noelle’s waist, never left its place, all under the pretense of prioritizing safety.
After changing their clothes, the onlookers were left utterly speechless. It seemed that when it came to love, Matthew was willing to throw away all his inhibitions.
Matthew took Noelle for two laps before he stopped. Noelle hadn’t changed her clothes, and if they continued, her thighs would be rubbed sore.‘
Moreover, he had slightly overestimated his own self–control.
The two dismounted their horse. Matthew went to the restroom while Noelle moved off to the side, taking a long, deep breath. She had barely dared to breathe when they were on horseback.
