I told Flynn, “I wasn’t lying. Look for yourself–Sophie’s even having episodes during the day now.”
He looked heartbroken. Just as he wanted to call Sophie, a loud shout echoed from upstairs, “Harder, Mark!”
Flynn froze, and then his face twisted in fury.
“Is Mark tired of living? How dare he lay his hands on my wife! I’ve been dealing with traitors across the globe, but the biggest one was under my roof!”
He pulled out his phone to call bodyguards to take Mark away, but I quickly grabbed his arm and shook my head.
“Flynn, please calm down. Just hear me out first.”
He shoved my hand away. “You’re still defending him? He’s dead meat today, no matter what you say!”
I forced out a few tears and said softly, “I can’t stop Mark either. And Sophie’s been so sick lately. Maybe he just felt sorry for her.”
Flynn pointed at me angrily. “You knew about this all along, didn’t you? You brought me home just to see this mess?”
I nodded while tears ran down my cheeks.
He scoffed. “Cry later when you’re attending his funeral.”

Flynn had always led the family’s secret operations. But his father, Richard Johnston, favored the youngest son, so Mark got just as many shares.
I knew that never sat well with Flynn. Still, he couldn’t find a way to change it.
Sure enough, Flynn’s anger cooled after hearing my suggestion.
“What do you have in mind?” he asked.
“Don’t worry,” I said. “I’ll fill you in when the time comes. I’ll make sure you win, and they lose. But for now, keep quiet.”
Flynn gave me a reluctant look, put on a different face, and shouted, “Honey, I’m home!”
Sophie’s screams instantly stopped. After some scuffling, she rushed downstairs, flustered.
“You’re back already, Hubby? Noelle, you too?”
She came closer, still reeking faintly of something unpleasant.
Flynn smiled and said, “I wanted to surprise you. I finished up early and came back. Are you happy?”
She reached out to hug him. “Of course! I missed you so much.”
Flynn pushed her away, leaving her confused.
“I was on a plane for over ten hours,” he said casually. “Better not get you sick if I pick up anything.”

Just then, Mark came down the stairs, fully dressed but red–faced and
sweaty.
He looked annoyed to see me. “Weren’t you in Koh Samui? Why did you come back so suddenly? You should tell me first.”
I walked over with a tissue, pretending to be considerate and wiping his forehead.
“Hubby, why didn’t you go to work today? And why are you sweating so much? It’s not even hot. Are you feeling okay?”
Mark looked uneasy as he accepted the tissue.
“No, I’m fine. I just couldn’t find an important file at the company, so I came home and searched through everything. That’s why I’m sweating.”
Those two did know how to act.
“Good to know you’re alright. I almost thought you and Sophie were doing something inappropriate. I heard her yelling the moment I walked in. Is she having another episode?”
Mark gulped. Sweat started forming again on his forehead, but he tried to stay composed. “Yeah, it started not long ago. I was worried, so I stayed with her in case it got worse.”
Flynn scoffed. “Wow, thanks. You took care of her so well that you ended up soaked in sweat. Must’ve been exhausting.”
Sophie quickly jumped in to cover for Mark. “Hubby, stop saying
weird things. Mark has been a huge help whitby, stop saying
