Chapter 9 Nothing But the Truth
Christopher took a deep breath. “And our competitors were trying to take us down. Charlie and I were working our butts off, and we broke our bodies thanks to that. You ladies ignored us when we came to you. And you were flirting with those men. Unbelievable.”
I was already close to forgiving Christopher. “Well, you didn’t tell us you guys booked a room.”
“And risk you escaping me again? Charlie even gave you guys 15 million in case you ran out of money. You ladies didn’t notice that?”
No, we didn’t. We put all our money in an account abroad and had a trust fund manager handle it for us. And also, I was having the time of my life, so I didn’t care much about anything else.
Sophia swore up and down that we had enough money and that we should spend as generously as we could. I had no idea Charlie gave us more money.
Christopher pinched my cheek. “I gave you money too, but you didn’t even notice. I can’t believe you’d bite me the moment we met. And you went club hopping with those escorts. Really?”
