“Don’t push it, Christopher!” I gave him a look.
He slowly sat up and, with a trembling hand, carefully scooped up the soup and fed himself. The second spoonful dribbled down his shirt, and the third splashed all over the table. Yeah, I had enough.
I snatched the spoon and fed him, and he happily swallowed the food. “You’re the best, honey. I knew you wouldn’t just stand by.
God, he was insufferable. “Christopher, I’m only helping you because we are technically still married, but you’d better not push your luck. Sign the papers once you get better.”
Christopher’s face fell, and he said nothing, but he finished his soup and wiped his mouth. “I will never! You’re not leaving either! My patience has its limits. If you’re going to leave me, your clients and Quincy are getting it!”
“Is that a threat?”
“Yes!”
That was infuriating, but Christopher wouldn’t back off no matter what. Though I’d only spent two months in this town, it was the best two months of my life. I couldn’t drag Sophia and the others into this because of me.
Christopher had no shame. He and his brother both womanized out there, yet they expected us to remain chaste for them. A furious me returned home with Sophia, but I was hatching a plan on the way.
First, I would get that ring back through legal means. Then, I would find out how much money Christopher spent on that bitch.
Sophia was the same. Since we were both caught, we’d let the whole world know what the Lawson brothers did.
If they wanted to make my life painful, I’d bite back as hard as I could.
The moment I got back, Christopher assigned bodyguards to me and forbade me from leaving the house. Not a problem. I called the cops and told them Lorelei stole my diamond. She confessed to it, and I had recordings to back me up.
I had paid for the diamond during the auction. Once I showed them the receipt, they arrested Lorelei. She called me and asked me to spare her, but I told her to pay up. I could let the diamond go, since someone else had defiled it.
However, the diamond alone cost me 4.5 million. Given my other losses, Lorelei would have to pay me 7.5 million.
“Seven and a half–You think I’m a leprechaun or something?” She screamed, “Mr. Lawson gave it to me! Ask him to pay you, Bianca!”
I laughed, “Now, calm down. You’re both getting it.”
I wasn’t going to spare Christopher either. Lorelei couldn’t pay me, of course, so I had to talk to Christopher.
