Christopher took a deep breath. “It’s not what you think, Bianca. Yes, I gave her the diamond, but I have my reasons.‘ “Then, tell me!”
He couldn’t come up with an answer. I sneered. “You may leave now. Someone else booked these rooms.”
“Yeah, us,” he admitted. “Fifteen grand a month.”

“What?” I looked at them. Of course. They were filthy rich and could be generous if they wanted to. Who else could it be? “So, we can stay here.”
Christopher caught up. “Yeah, if you make us leave, we’ll leave a bad review. You don’t want your hard work to go to waste, do you?”

As I went green with rage, Sophia held my hand. “Just let them stay around. We’ll go back to our rooms. It’s just one month. It’ll be gone before you know it.”
She had a point. Christopher tried to grab me, but I moved away and pointed at the camera atop our heads. “You’re in a bed and breakfast, so watch your attitude. Don’t disturb the business owner, or I’m calling the cops.”
I went downstairs. What a night.
A while later, Christopher knocked on my door. Frustrated, I asked, “What now?”
“Can you make something for me, Bianca? I’ve not been eating properly for a couple of months, and my stomach is acting up.”
Ah, yes, I remembered. He had gastric problems, and I’d been the one who took care of that. He must’ve been eating erratically since I left. I was going to scold him, but then I realized he had nothing to do with me.
I was going to refuse, but he took out his phone and started writing a review, so I snatched it. “Fine, I’ll make something.” I rolled my eyes and went to the kitchen. Right after I boiled the water, a loud thud came from behind.
I turned around only to be met with Christopher lying on the ground, his face white. Shocked, I said, “You better don’t die here, Christopher! Someone, help!”
