Chapter 28
Just as Serena was about to leave, Wilson pushed the door open and walked in. He was dressed in a custom–tailored black suit without a tie, and the perfectly fitted trousers accentuated his long legs. His demeanor was cool and composed, yet there was a
hint of casual indifference in his stride.
“Mr. Quade,” Serena greeted him with a warm smile. “I brought you your breakfast ”
Wilson approached the desk and glanced at the neatly packaged mushroom soup on it. He clicked his tongue. He remarked dryly, “Ms. Judd, your soup looks so exquisite–exactly like the one from the breakfast shop downstairs, Funny, the packaging even has
the same logo.”
Serena froze for a moment before explaining, “I did make soup for you, but there was an accident this morning, and it spilled
everywhere. I had no choice but to buy some. Don’t worry—I’ll make it for you tomorrow.”
Wilson’s gaze softened slightly. “Are you okay?!!
“Huh?” Serena blinked. Then, it hit her that he was asking about her. “I’m fine. The car just grazed me, but it didn’t crash into me
directly. Only the food jar got ruined.”
It was brand new too–what a waste
Wilson studied her intently for a moment, then turned toward the door. “Let’s go.”
Serena followed him, a bit puzzled. “Go where, Mr. Quade? Are we meeting a client?”
Wilson did not answer right away. It was not until they were both seated in the car that he spoke. He said, “We’re going to the hospital for a checkup.”
Serena quickly shook her head. “No, really, I’m fine. I know my own body–I didn’t get hurt.”
“Good,” Wilson replied, his tone even.
Serena exhaled in relief, but then he added, “Now, put on your seatbelt.”
“Wait—you just said I’m fine. Shouldn’t we be heading back to the office?”
“I said you’re fine, but that doesn’t mean we can skip the checkup,” Wilson countered smoothly.
Serena was speechless. His logic was impossible to argue with. In the end, she could not win and reluctantly accompanied him to one of the best private hospitals in Nocturna
Wilson took charge of registering her for multiple departments. When Serena offered to handle it herself, he refused, stating matter–of–factly, “You’re the patient. What kind of person makes the patient do all the work?”
“I’m not a patient,” she argued
“If you’re not a patient, why are we here?”

“Why are your ears red?”
Serena opened her mouth to respond, but Wilson reached out, his hand gently brushing her forehead. “Hmm,” he mused thoughtfully, “You’re not feverish. So, what’s going on?”
Her cheeks flushed even more, turning an obvious shade of crimson.
The young woman nearby practically squealed with excitement. “You two are so perfect together! You look like a couple straight
out of a romantic drama.”
Wilson’s sharp gaze shifted to her. “What did you just say?”
The young woman beamed. “I said you’re super handsome, and your girlfriend is gorgeous. It’s been ages since I’ve seen such a
stunning couple!”
Serena was embarrassed. She could only hope Wilson would not take her silence as an admission.
“You’ve got good taste,” Wilson replied smoothly, grinning. “I hope you find a boyfriend as handsome as me one day‘
Then, he turned to Serena and said, “Let’s
