Chapter 11
The moment Wilson said that, everyone’s faces were filled with shock.
Justin was so furious that he actually laughed. He turned to Serena. “You really impress me. Just a few days, and you’re already hooking up with my rival?”
“What’s it to you?” Serena’s face flushed with anger as she forcefully yanked his hand away.
The force was so strong that she stumbled backward. Fortunately, a hand gently steadied her waist.
Wilson’s deep, mischievous eyes locked with hers.
Serena froze for a second. She quickly straightened up and stood beside him..
Wilson seemed pleased by her action. His eyes narrowed, a hint of a smile spreading across his face.
Justin found the scene unbearable. Just as he was about to speak, Jacob stepped in his way. “Justin, didn’t Serena quit? Why are
you still bothering her? I’m sure your girlfriend wouldn’t be happy about that.”
It was only then that Justin remembered Candice. He turned around and saw her pale face. She bit her lip, looking as if she might
burst into tears any second.
Arthur stepped forward as well. “Justin, Serena isn’t your employee anymore. You have no right to interfere in her life.”
Justin’s cold eyes narrowed as he stared at Serena, then shifted to Wilson. “You’ve got your eye on her?”
Wilson flicked the ash from his cigarette. “It’s none of your business.”
“How dare you?” Justin’s veins popped as his arm tensed.
Jacob blocked him. “Justin, Serena is now Wilson’s assistant.”
Justin was shocked. In his fury, he let out a bitter laugh. “You’re really something else, Serena Judd!”
She actually went to work as an assistant at his rival’s company just to spite him?
To be honest, Serena’s move worked like a charm. It did set him off. He was beyond furious.
Frustrated, Justin yanked at his tie and shoved Jacob aside. “You’re something else too, Jacob. I always wondered why I hadn’t. seen you around these past few years. Turns out you’ve been cozying up with the Quade family!”
Jacob had grown up with them, but after taking over the Smith family business, he’d gradually distanced himself.
It was only today that Justin learned just how close Jacob had become to Wilson. A feeling of betrayal–both by his woman and his friend gnawed at him. With a scowl, he stormed out.
Candice bat her lip and followed quietly behind him.
Suddenly, a scream cut through the air. It was Joseph, clutching himself in agony.
Lauren had kneed him right in the groin. “Next time you try to stop me, I’ll make sure you’re done for!”
With that, she slammed the ashtray onto the table.
Joseph dared not speak, especially not when he saw Wilson. He scurried behind Arthur, looking like he’d seen a ghost
Wilson paid no attention to the others. He lowered his head and looked at Serena. “Are you
okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” she replied.
“Then are you heading back, or do you still want to have
ave fun with the escort?”
Serena hesitated briefly before answering, “I want to go back.”
Wilson escorted her to the door.
Before leaving, he glanced at Jacob. “Handle things here.” Then, he disappeared into the dim light, fading away.
Mollie stood there, staring after him, still lost in thought.

At midnight, the wind on the street carried a chill.
Serena had initially planned to hail a cab. However, Wilson directly instructed his people to drive them back.
Just as Serena was about to say something, Wilson spoke abruptly, “Serena, your taste is really questionable.”
“What?” It took Serena a moment to realize he was talking ab
“He wasn’t like this before…”
about Justin. She lowered her h head, trying to defend herself weakly.
Back then, he had treated her well. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have fallen so hard.
Wilson raised an eyebrow. “You know, you haven’t changed one bit, little ingrate. Always defend him no matter what‘
“I’m not,” Serena tried to explain.
She wasn’t defending Justin, she was just standing up for her own judgment. She wanted to prove that her taste wasn’t that
When Sebastian pulled up in the car, Serena and Lauren climbed in.
Wilson stood on the sidewalk, the wind ruffling his hair. His delicate features resembled the handsome male lead from a comic
Serena rolled down the car window and gave him a soft smile. “Mr Quade.”
“Yeah?”
“Thanks for tonight” Her dark eyes shone brightly, like stars
Wilson’s gaze flickered for a moment, and he didn’t speak. When the car drove off, he finally smiled.
Footsteps sounded behind him. Jacob walked up and handed him a cigarette. “What’d she say to you? You’re all smiley.”
“She thanked me. Shouldn’t I feel happy?” Wilson looked up. “Where are the others?”
“They’ve all left. Arthur’s clear–headed. He’s not like Justin,” Jacob replied.
Wilson’s voice was cold. “There are not many people who are as blind as Justin.”

“Rina, seriously, are you not going to take my advice? Wilson is a top–tier catch. If you let him go, it’s a missed opportunity!
You’re so close to him now. You should take the chance and lock him down!”
Ever since they came back from Drunk Haven, Lauren hadn’t stopped talking-
Her main focus was “Forget Justin” and “Go after Wilson“.
Serena took out her keys to open the door. “I have to work tomorrow. Can you give me a break?”
“Just tell me. Do you think you can win Wilson over?”
“Oh, please. I don’t want to die young.”
got a bad reputation, sure, but look at him. Can someone like him really be that bad? Maybe it’s all
Lauren tapped her chin. “He’s go
just Justin’s smear campaign.”
Serena didn’t respond.
Lauren was the type to make decisions based on looks.
Serena unlocked the door to the apartment and walked in.
Lauren followed her in and babbled on for a bit but soon noticed something off. Serena was unnervingly quiet.
“Is there something on your mind, Rina?”
“Yeah “Serena’s eyes flickered, her emotions unreadable. “I remembered something.”
Earlier, Wilson had called her an ingrate and mentioned that he had known her since they were younger, but she had no memory
Now, seeing how Joseph had reacted to Wilson, she suddenly recalled.
They had indeed met a long time ago
