I Married 28

Chapter 28

Two weeks later, at the airport.

Maddalena walked arm in arm with Emilio, the two of them in an intimate pose that created a sweet atmosphere that others couldn’t even break into. It was clear at first glance that they were newlyweds.

As they walked, Maddalena’s gaze suddenly stopped not far away. There were several people gathered together argu- ing, and two of them looked very familiar.

It was Vittoria and Celene.

They looked very disheveled, with their clothes and hair all messy, huddled up pitifully and talking to the airport se- curity personnel.

“Please, don’t drive us away. If we go back, those debt collectors will kill us!”

Vittoria tried to please the airport security guards in a low voice. Celene also kept crying and clinging to Vittoria’s legs, pleading with the security guards, “Uncle, please have mercy on us!”

“I and mom couldn’t leave, I want to find dad! Mom, I want dad! Mom, didn’t you say dad would marry you? I don’t want you, I want dad!”

Vittoria seemed to grasp at a lifesaver and quickly spoke up.

“Yes, I know Silvano. I am the one who saved his life, the chairman of the Cavanna Group. You can’t drive me away! Otherwise-”

Her words were interrupted halfway. The security guard looked at her and shook his head, with a face full of pity.

“You went crazy at such a young age. If you really know someone so powerful, can’t even get a visa?”

The crowd also began to laugh. And at that moment, Vittoria also noticed Maddalena.

Maddalena looked radiant in a light-colored dress, appearing gentle and elegant. She stood out in stark contrast to the dirty and unkempt woman.

She grabbed the security guard’s hand and pointed to Maddalena not far away.

“Bring that woman over here! She knows me and can prove what I said!”

Vittoria leaned out recklessly.

“Maddalena, come quickly to prove that what I said is true, I did not lie! You cannot just stand by and watch me be driven away, otherwise Silvano will never forgive you for the rest of his life!”

The security guards were startled by Vittoria’s actions and quickly pulled the people back when they saw Maddalena

and Emilio in the distance.

“What a lunatic, daring to bump into anyone, let alone Mr. Loredan and his new wife from the Loredan Group! Their century wedding was just the two of them, and you don’t even know that and dare to speak out of turn?”

Upon hearing these words, Vittoria was taken aback, her jealous and resentful gaze falling upon Maddalena. “No, it’s not like that. Wasn’t Maddalena determined to marry Silvano? How did she find such a good man?”

“Wrong, it’s not like this! It must be fake! You are deceiving me! You want to deceive me to leave!”

She rushed over, her face contorted, and yelled at Maddalena, “Maddalena, you bitch, it was intentional, wasn’t it! You are so malicious, you already have everything, why can’t you just give him to me, give us mother and daughter a way out?”

Vittoria hadn’t finished cursing when she was pushed back by security guards the next second.

Emilio noticed Maddalena’s gaze and followed her eyes.

“Do you know them? he asked softly.”

Maddalena looked away and gave a faint smile.

“I didn’t know him, he was just a stranger.”

Yes, for her, both Vittoria and Silvano are now just strangers.

She linked arms with Emilio and shook her head.

“Let’s go, if we don’t hurry up, the plane will be delayed later.”

Emilio rarely had free time, so they agreed to go on a trip to St. Petersburg. After they returned, Maddalena also had to go back to work at the hospital.

Wasting time on strangers is really pointless.

The plane took off and soared into the sky.

The sunshine outside the window was bright, and the scenery was just right.
