Chapter 26
Vittoria looked at her back and sneered.
“Whatsoever, Mrs. Cavanna’s position will eventually be mine! So short-sighted, I will be the first one to dismiss her when the time comes.”
Celene pouted as she held onto Vittoria’s arm, “Yeah, anyone who doesn’t buy me steak and ravioli is a meanie! Mom, tell dad to fire her!”
Vittoria touched Celene’s head and said softly, “Sweetheart, Mommy has come up with a good idea to make Daddy love you even more.”
Celene blinked her big eyes and asked curiously, “What method, Mom?”
Vittoria smiled mysteriously, “When dad comes back, you pretend to have a stomachache, okay?”
Celene’s little face wrinkled into a frown, pouting with a look of displeasure.
“However, I just pretended to have a stomach ache last time. Will it not work this time if I pretend to have a stomach. ache again?”
Vittoria pinched her little nose, “This time is different, baby, you have to cry harder, okay?”
Celene hesitated, looking at Vittoria with a sense of grievance. “But if you cry too hard, your eyes will hurt…”
A hint of fierceness flashed in Vittoria’s eyes, but her tone remained gentle. “Silly child, it’s only when you cry in pain. that Daddy will feel heartache.”
She paused for a moment and continued, “Do you remember the last time you ‘got sick”? How worried your dad was? He held you in his arms, running around in the hospital, not even caring about his work.”
There was a hint of subtle satisfaction in Vittoria’s tone.
“Last time, we hid the allergen, and your dad really gave that little bitch named Albergo a good scolding!”
This trick never fails. Could Silvano still doubt children?
Celene nodded hesitantly, as if she understood.
“Mom, are you saying that Dad is very worried about me, so as long as I pretend to be sick, he will believe me and then be even more caring towards me, right?”
Vittoria replied confidently, “Of course, darling, you have to remember, you call him daddy, you are his most beloved daughter.”
Celene’s eyes lit up as she nodded vigorously, “I got it, Mom. I will definitely cry well!”

Chapter 26
The two of them chatted incessantly about how to make the next performance more realistic, leaving Silvano at a loss from the start.
Silvano was standing at the door with a dark expression, completely unnoticed, listening to all of their conversation.
It wasn’t until Vittoria looked up that she saw Silvano’s darkened face. Her expression froze, a hint of panic flashing in her eyes, and she quickly stood up.
“Silo, when did you come back?”
As Vittoria spoke, she signaled to Celene. Celene immediately clutched her stomach and collapsed to the ground, her face turning pale as she rolled on the ground, crying out.
“Dad, Dad, Celene’s stomach hurts so much…”
Her small body curled up into a ball, looking pitiful and helpless.
Upon seeing this, Vittoria felt a sense of relief in her heart, but she put on a look of extreme anxiety on her face. She hugged Celene tightly and, with a trembling voice, looked at Silvano, “Silo, Celene is in a lot of pain in her stomach, what should we do?”
Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked fragile and helpless.
Silvano stood at the doorway, his face dark and showing no intention of moving. He coldly watched Celene, who looked “miserable”, without saying a word, sending shivers down one’s spine.
Vittoria saw that Silvano did not react, feeling a bit flustered. She reached out to tug at Silvano’s sleeve, “Silo, look at Celene, she’s screaming in pain!”
Her voice trembled, and it did look like that was the case. However, this time Silvano pushed Vittoria’s hand away with such force that she stumbled and fell to the ground.
She exclaimed, clutching her sore arm, her eyes filled with grievance and confusion, “Silo, how could you do this?”
She held back her tears and began to choke up.
“I know you are still angry, but the child is still so young, we can’t just ignore it like this, Silo, shall we go to the hos- pital? Otherwise, Celene will be in trouble!”
Silvano sneered and his tone was full of sarcasm, “Trouble? How come I didn’t know that you mother and daughter are so good at acting?”
He looked down at Vittoria, his eyes as sharp as a blade, “Vittoria, do you really think I don’t know anything?”
