Chapter 25

He looked back with drunken eyes.

“Silvano! Look at yourself now!”

Jake didn’t expect to see Silvano like this. He was so angry that he snatched the bottle from his hand and poured the entire bottle of wine directly onto Silvano’s face.

Silvano finally came to his senses, the alcohol dissipating slightly.

“Damn it, what time is it already? Can you please wake up? The company is in trouble!”

Jake hated that he couldn’t turn iron into steel, so he yelled at him.

Silvano raised his head, his eyes blank, “What happened?”

“The project the company is working on now has been stuck, and the bank is also going to recall the loan! If you don’t come back to the company to deal with it, the company will be finished!”

Silvano woke up completely sober, leaning weakly against the wall, and gave a bitter smile.

“I am like this now, do you think I can still manage the company? All of this was done by Emilio, he won’t let me off.”

“The Loredan family was large and powerful, even if I went there, it wouldn’t be of any use.”

Silvano sneered coldly, looking disdainful.

Jake was furious and punched Silvano in the face.

“So what? Are you planning to just surrender like this? He wants to deal with you, and you’re just going to wait to die?”

Silvano covered his face, his eyes dim.

“What else could I do? Jake, I lost her!”

He covered his face and cried bitterly.

“Maddalena was supposed to be my wife, to spend my life with!”

No matter how much he didn’t want to admit it, Silvano knew deep down that Maddalena would not come back.

“So what? Are you still going to abandon us? Maddalena got married, you still have me as your good brother, and so many people in the company. Silvano, can you act like a man?”

Jake looked at him disappointedly.

“If Maddalena hadn’t left, do you think she would want to see you like this? Can’t you live without Maddalena? Sil- vano, don’t make me lose respect for you!”

“I went to the company. Silvano wiped his face and stood up.”

“This was the last time, it won’t happen again in the future.”

No one could ever make him love again like he loved Maddalena.

Jake sighed, feeling inexplicably that Silvano’s figure seemed lonely.

“Don’t overthink it, things will get better in the future, Jake said, his eyes filled with complexity.”

Silvano paused for a moment, then felt a pang of bitterness in his heart. “It will be okay, I know,”

“Let’s go.”

Outside the office of the Moroni Group’s top CEO, the assistant stood holding several delicate paper bags, looking hesitant.

Vittoria sat on the sofa, impatiently tapping on the table.

“Why is it taking so long? Where is my lunch?”

The assistant carefully placed two delicately packaged lunch boxes on the table. “Ms. Moroni, this is your lunch.”

Vittoria glanced at the lunch box, frowned, “Didn’t I say I wanted The Vault Kitchen? What is this? Garbage from the company cafeteria? Even dogs wouldn’t eat this!”

“Ms. Moroni, The Vault Kitchen required a reservation, and they do not offer takeout unless Mr. Cavanna is present. Without him, we simply do not have the authority to make a reservation.”

The assistant felt a little awkward and tactfully reminded.

Vittoria’s face changed, and she slammed the table, “Are you saying I’m not qualified to order these dishes?”

“I didn’t mean that… the assistant quickly explained.”

“What do you mean by that? Vittoria asked sharply, glaring at her assistant with displeasure.”

“I- the assistant hadn’t figured out how to respond yet, when Celene beside him gave him a hard push, causing him to crash into the table.”

“I wanted to eat steak, and also ravioli! Hurry up and go buy it for me!”

“However-”

Celene arrogantly interrupted her.

“But what! Dad is going to marry mom soon, and then you will be my servant!”

Vittoria looked proudly at her assistant and said, “Did you hear that? I am about to become Mrs. Cavanna, ter hurry up! If you delay my lunch with Celene, you can start packing your things and leave!”

The assistant gritted his teeth and turned out of the office.

When Dr. Albergo was around, things were never like this. Dr. Albergo was always gentle and polite, ne hard time to his assistants. Unlike Vittoria, who hasn’t even married into the Cavanna family yet, but alt like she’s a Maddalena.
