Chapter 24
At night, Emilio passed by the master bedroom, intending to continue back to the guest room to sleep. However, as he walked past the doorway, he was stopped by Maddalena.
“Aren’t you going to bed?”
Maddalena looked up at him, her gaze carrying a different kind of meaning.
Emilio looked down at the hands of the two people holding each other, his fingertips tightening slightly. He didn’t ex- pect Maddalena to take the initiative to hold him.
Emilio had thought that this process would be very long. But now, Maddalena’s actions are undoubtedly telling him that she is willing to accept him. She is truly accepting him.
A huge surprise surged into Emilio’s heart in an instant, and he even felt a little dizzy. Without hesitation, he nodded and then picked up Maddalena, striding into the bedroom.
“Ah! Maddalena exclaimed softly, instinctively wrapping her arms around Emilio’s neck.”
Emilio gently placed her on the bed, their bodies pressed tightly together, their breaths mingling.
The room was very quiet, with only the sound of their heartbeats audible. Emilio’s deep eyes were locked onto Mad- dalena, with the love in his eyes almost overflowing.
“At this point, I will never let go in the future. His voice was low and hoarse, filled with possessiveness.”
Maddalena’s heart trembled slightly. She looked up and met Emilio’s intense gaze.
“I have no intention of letting go either,” she said softly, her tone firm. “I will only be widowed, not divorced.”
Emilio’s eyes and corners of his mouth were all touched with a smile.
“I wouldn’t give you this opportunity.”
He lowered his head and gently kissed Maddalena on the lips.
This kiss was lingering and entwined, carrying a long-suppressed desire.
Maddalena closed her eyes, responding to Emilio’s kiss. She could feel Emilio’s love, passionate and sincere. Their breaths intertwined.
As the night grew darker, the temperature in the room gradually rose. The moonlight outside shone through the thin curtains, casting dappled shadows on the floor.
Silvano returned home to find that Vittoria had already left with Celene. The villa was empty, like a huge cage.

He had originally thought that with Maddalena’s love for him, he could bring her back this time. However, in the end, he was left alone.
At that moment, Silvano realized that without Maddalena, it was not home at all.
He opened a bottle of whiskey and drank one glass after another. The spicy liquid slid down his throat, but could not extinguish the bitterness surging in his heart.
He remembered the way Maddalena and Emilio stood together, the pain in his heart making it almost impossible to breathe, only alcohol could temporarily numb him.
The bottle was empty, so he opened another one and continued to drink. One bottle after another, Silvano felt his con- sciousness gradually becoming blurred.
Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open by someone.
