Chapter 22
Observing? What does Emilio mean by that?
A strong sense of unease surged in Silvano’s heart. He was escorted by bodyguards, passing through a long corridor, and taken to a corner on the second floor of the church.
This spot offered a panoramic view of the entire church and lawn, but those below couldn’t see what was above.
Silvano was pinned against the railing, and every time he looked down, he saw Maddalena standing on the lawn. His gaze was fixed on Maddalena.”
She wore a classic Baroque-style wedding dress, with a soft veil that floated like a cloud, delicate and graceful.
The wedding venue was decorated luxuriously and romantically. Surrounded by flowers, guests gathered. Everything was so beautiful, yet so dazzling.
Standing next to Maddalena was Emilio. He was also dressed in a sharp suit, polite and refined, with a happy smile on his face.
The two of them stood together, as if they were a match made in heaven.
The scene before Silvano’s eyes made his heart feel like it was being tightly squeezed by an invisible hand, unable to
breathe.
He only then realized the true meaning of Emilio inviting him to watch the ceremony.
He wanted to see with his own eyes his beloved woman marry another man.
Killing someone is just as cruel! There is no punishment in this world more brutal than this.
Silvano began to struggle frantically.
“Let me go! It shouldn’t be like this! The one who should be underneath is me! Maddalena should be marrying me!”
He wanted to rush over to stop the wedding, but he was firmly held back by the bodyguard behind him, who covered
his mouth.
He roared and shouted in his heart, but no one could hear, only watched helplessly as Maddalena walked slowly to Emilio. The priest’s solemn voice rang out.
“Mr. Emilio, do you take Miss Maddalena to be your wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish until death do you part?”
“I am willing, Emilio’s response was firm and resolute.”
“Miss Maddalena, do you agree to marry Mr. Emilio as your husband, to love him and cherish him, in sickness and in

health, for richer or for poorer, until death do you part?”
Upon hearing the priest’s question, Maddalena was initially a bit nervous, but when she saw Emilio’s gaze across from her, she instantly calmed down.
Perhaps it was just a moment of impulse from the beginning, but now, Maddalena feels that she has chosen the most correct path.
She placed her hand in Emilio’s hand, “I do.”
Silvano watched in disbelief as Maddalena and Emilio exchanged rings. Then the priest declared them husband and wife, and they embraced and kissed.
His throat emitted a weak roar, desperate like a trapped beast. The bodyguard still firmly restrained him, not allowing him to take a step closer.
The wedding was over, and the guests dispersed.
Emilio came to the second floor alone and immediately saw Silvano lying on the ground in a daze.
“Mr. Cavanna, was the wedding very exciting?”
Emilio looked at him, his tone revealing no emotion.
“Why are you still here? Do you want to watch my wedding night?”
He spoke in a sarcastic tone..
“However, I am a bit stingy and do not like others coveting my wife.”
Upon hearing Emilio’s boasting, Silvano was furious and rushed up to give Emilio a punch.
“Shameless! Maddalena was mine! You just took advantage of the situation!”
He gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with hatred.
“Once she calms down, she will definitely divorce you!”
Emilio chuckled lightly, reaching out to grab Silvano’s fist, his eyes filled with a hint of pity.
“Sneak in while I’m vulnerable? Silvano, how do you know I haven’t been planning this for a long time?”
